Welder/fitter

Objective


I would like to be part of a company that is reputable, goal/people orientated and strives for quality. I am a Journeyman level Welder with experience in all welding processes. I take a dynamic approach to the quality control of my welds, so as to demonstrate the expertise of my craft. I am comfortable with all the tools and machinery that is used in my field along with experience with project and quality control and operations of my craft.


Experience


2011-2012 Northwest Welding and Mechanical, Welder/Fitter. GMAW, Dual Shield used in Welding columes and beams for structural steel as we are erecting a new school. Also proficient in material handling. Experience with Mag drills, grinding and heavy machinery.

2010-2010 Petersen Incorporated Welder/Fitter

Certified in LG3 GMAW, FCAW, and SMAW. My responsibilites were to fit and weld nuclear waste frames which were then placed in large containers for the lids. I operated the chop saw, fork lift, overhead crane and other various machinery used in the field.

2008-2009 Cambelt International Corp.

Quality Assurance/Control

the products fabricated were large conveyors called Mastersands(open conveyors and Sandmasters (enclosed conveyors. The conveyors were built to serve the customers needs. But they were mostly used to move sand in the oil field. My responsibilites were to inspect and oversee the assemblers, welders, painters and the finished products on the conveyors and hydraulic system. I certified as a material handler and used many tools in the fabrication shop. I'am familiar with the shear, break and other various machinery along with the overhead cranes that were used

2007-2008 Gossamer Steel Fabrication Welder/Fitter

Certified in GMAW all positions. We built the Conveyors that I inspected on the job after this one. I certified in material handling as well.


Education


1996-2002 Weber State University Bachelor of Sciences in Communications. I also worked with the Disabilities Department as a interpreter for the deaf students and on the school newspaper as a journalist.

1080-1981 Skill Center North Certified in all welding positions and Blue Prints


Certification


LG3-4

GMAW, SMAW, FMAW all positions required on the individual certifications and Material Handling. Mig, (hard wire), Dual Shield, (flux core), Spray Arc, Stainless Steel and Stick.


Skils


Proficient in Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) Globular: Spray 3G (Vertical up), Brazing/ Soldering. I can present prior Welding Certifications. Also knowledgeable of production planning, scheduling, and layout.

Familiar in computer skills which include Office Works, Excel, Photoshop and Presentations. I am a quick learner of new software programs that are specific or non-specific to a company.


 


Bi-lingual in ASL (American Sign-Language and English.

I am also a member and volunteer of A.B.A.T.E. (American Bikers Aiming Toward Education). This group works with UDOT (Utah Department od Transportation) and the Public Safety Department sponsoring and promoting motorcycle safety and awareness to high schools and the driving public. I also worked as a journalist and editor on the state publicized "Highway Star," newspaper. My responsibilites were for the publishing, editing, graphics and ad sales, twice a year.
