Welder/fitter

Objective


Anything to do with mig or tig welding.


Experience


Laid out, fit and welded fabricated, cast and forged components to assemble structural forms, such as machinery frames, tanks, pressure vessels, furnace shells and building and bridge parts.

· Strong ability to read blue prints and schematics.

· Selected equipment and planned layout, assembly and welding, applying knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metal machining weld shrinkage and welding techniques.

· Successful at milti-tasking

· Laid out, positioned, aligned and fit components together.

· Able to operate and repair Punches, Drill Press, Press Brakes, and welders.

· Bolted, clamped and tack-welded parts to secure position for welding.

· Fully certified welder with solid skils in wroking with various tpes of metals: Aluminum, Mild Steel, Stainless Steel, and Hardened Steel.

· Set up equipment and welded parts, using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc, and gas welding equipment.

· Seven years experience with steet metal fabrication.

· Assembled parts by bolting and riveting.

· Supervised and managed 10 to 25 welders for a sheet metal shop.

· Repaired products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping and reassembling parts with cutting torch and straightening press.

· Supervised 10 to 25 employees, scheduled work hours, resolved conflicts, determined salaries.

· Effective problem solver.

· Strong written and verbal skills.

· Able to operate, maintain, and repair hand grinders/handtools.
