2nd Officer / Watch-Keeper (BCO) in the Canadian Arctic (Beaufort Sea), through the company ORSI. for Frontier Drilling, operator of the Shell owned CDU Kulluk.
CDU Kulluk: (Conical Drilling Unit): Watch-Keeper and Supervising on deck.

MV. Northern Ranger: (Passenger / General Cargo): Watch-Keeper, Crane operator as well as supervising the deck work.

Fisheries and Oceans Canada, and Canadian Coast Guard on board several different vessels that encompassed the following duties.
CCGS Harp: (Type 200 SAR Cutter ): Seaman and bridge as watchman/wheels man.
CCGS Cape Roger: (Fisheries Patrol Vessel): Seaman and bridge as watchman/wheels man. (A portion of this time I worked as a second year cadet).
CCGS Leonard J. Cowley: (Fisheries Patrol Vessel): Seaman and bridge as watchman/wheels man.
CCGS J.E. Bernier: (Light Ice Breaker/Buoy Tender): Seaman and bridge as watchman/wheels man and latterly promoted to Quartermaster.
CCGS Ann Harvey: (Light Ice Breaker/Buoy Tender): Seaman and on the bridge as watchman/wheels man and latterly promoted to Quartermaster.
CCGS Sir Wilfred Grenfell: (Light Ice Breaker/Offshore Supply Tug): Seaman and bridge as watchman/wheels man.

Occasionally fished with my father, an inshore fisherman.
During this time we harvested various fish species (lobster, herring, squid, mackerel, capelin, crab, cod and lumpfish). Carried out maintenance on three fishing boats, fishing gear, fishing equipment, wharfs, stages and small engine repairs.
