Employment Shoreside

April 2006 – To Present

Employed as Vessel Superintendent of six ABS Class A1

Ocean Service Articulated Tug and Barge units for K-Sea

Transportation Inc. Responsibilities include overseeing

the condition of the above fleet and conducting

scheduled and non scheduled hull and equipment

inspections. As a direct supervisor of vessel captains

and crew, duties are to advise in vessel

operations including cargo loading and discharging

matters. Conduct investigations into

marine casualties and make recommendations for

corrective measures as required. Implement

policy and procedures. Assist with both

preventive/corrective maintenance issues, oversee

shipyard periods, schedule and provide oversight of

statutory surveys, monitor and verify work

done by contractors.



January 1998 – January 1999

I worked for Aon Re Inc. as an Assistant Broker in the

Marine Reinsurance Department. Responsibilities included

research into claims, preparation of presentations for

clients and organization of an extensive filling system.



Employment at Sea

October 1999 – December 2005

Sailed as Second Mate on the M/V Liberty for American Ro-

Ro Carrier. A 52,000 gross ton vessel operated in the

North Atlantic. Responsibilities included standing

navigational watches, the preparation of voyage plans,

vessel record keeping and reports, all care and

maintenance scheduling and repairs of bridge equipment.

Port duties where to direct the loading and

discharging of vessel cargoes in a safe and efficient

manor using computer software to maintain proper trim

and stability.
