Source and provide LTL, FTL, and rate quotes to customers based on class, volume, piece count, and weight after negotiating with carriers. Report directly to the Operations Manager and work in conjunction with the other members of the logistics group as well as other necessary office staff.

Supervising of vessel, train, yard and gate operations for a Valparaiso container terminal. This involves the direct supervision of key individuals and equipment. Keeps senior management informed of work status and problems as they arise. Responsible for the containers dispatching, reception, stacking, loading and unloading to/from vessel and/or deposit. Directs the activities of longshore personnel (including Longshoremen, Foremen, Marine Clerks and Terminal Office Workers, as appropriate). Responsible for maintaining positive and productive relations with the labor unions, as well as with customers. Actively participates in the improvement and enhancement of operational procedures and systems by providing ideas and feed back. Works closely with terminal staff, vessel operators and their agents in the development of accurate and efficient plans to load / unload vessels or operate terminals. Provides comprehensive work direction to the workforce at the beginning of each assignment during the execution of the plan and provides a follow-up assessment of the work upon completion of the vessel or terminal operation.
