USCG Licensed Master 100 Tons

Objective


A mid-level management position requiring a highly motivated individual, which will effectively utilize extensive experience and training in boat piloting, sailing, seamanship, and maintenance.


Experience


Aug 2001-Present Captain/Dive Master, Maui Dive Shop Maui, Hawaii

Experience as Captain, Dive Master for the largest dive and snorkel operation in the State of Hawaii. Offered first class customer service. Vessels operated include a Pro-48 custom-built Dive-Boat (29 gross tons) with 56-passenger capacity. Also operated two 32’ Jet-Drive Vessels (12 and 15 gross tons) with 24-passenger capacity. Activities include scuba diving, snorkeling, whale watching, as well as private charters. Excursions include the island of Lanai, Molokini Crater, Makena Coast to Kanaio Coast. Assisted with daily maintenance and dry-dock on all three vessels.



Aug 1994-Jul 01 Captain, Body Glove Cruises Kona Coast, Hawaii

Experience as Captain, Deck Hand, Bartender aboard family oriented 51’ Trimaran, 27 gross tons with 100-passenger capacity. Exceed high expectations of guests. Activities include Snorkeling, Scuba Diving, Whale Watching adventures as well as Exclusive Charters. Assisted with maintenance and dry-dock.



Apr 1995-Dec 97 Deck Hand, Diver, Attendant – Atlantis Submarines Kona Coast, Hawaii

Served as Deck Hand aboard 50’ single hull boat shuttle for the submarine. Assisted with safe transfer of passengers from shuttle to submarine. Performed dive show for passengers to view while aboard submarine. Extensive knowledge of marine life, provided narration of tour as well as interacting with passengers. Assisted with Navigation of submarine.



May 1994-Jan 95 Deck Hand/First Mate, Lanakila Ventures Kona Coast, Hawaii

Served as Deck Hand aboard 60' staysail schooner trimaran, 39 gross tons with 49-passenger capacity. Activities include Snorkeling, Sailing, Whale Watching as well as Exclusive Charters. Awarded “Silver Lifesaving Medal” by the United States Coast Guard.



Aug 1990-Jan 93 Aircraft Assembly Mechanic, McDonnell Douglas Long Beach, California

Repaired and installed jet engines on the MD-80 and MD-11 aircraft. Rig and conduct operational checks on engine control systems to include throttle, fuel and thrust reversers. Perform final electrical and mechanical shakedowns on MD-80 and MD-11 flight control systems.



Aug 1986-Jun 90 Aircraft Structural Mechanic, U.S. Army Virginia, Korea, and New York

Planned, directed and supervised the installation, maintenance and repair of metal structures of aircraft, movable aircraft parts and their control systems, aircraft body surfaces. Supervised and assisted in the construction of replacement structural and hydraulic component parts. Supervised and assisted junior technicians including foreign nationals in performing aircraft repairs. Crew Chief aboard Army Helicopters. Recipient of Army Commendation Medal.
