Seeking Chief Engineer position


Experience


Thirty two years’ experience in operating and maintaining diesel powered propulsion and generating plants. Twenty years’ experience as Chief Engineer. Service aboard container, RO/RO, product tanker, and cruise vessels as well as dynamically stationed offshore drilling rigs. Directly responsible for M & R budget of $900,000 for hotel equipment, and assist Chief Engineer with responsibility for total vessel M & R budget of $3.2 million. Plank holder and trainer of engine personnel in NCL America's program to initiate US flag cruise vessels in the Hawaiian trade. Most of the engineering personnel for three cruise vessels gained operational training under my guidance, in my capacity as First Engineer. Developed practices to blend international cruise ship operation with US marine personnel capabilities and ratings.



Experienced with Slow, Medium, and High Speed diesel engines: Sulzer (slow & medium), MAN B&W (slow & medium), Wartsila, Pielstick, EMD, Caterpillar, Fiat, Deutz, GM.



Experienced with direct-reversing, geared-reversing, controllable pitch, and diesel electric propulsion, including SCR speed controlled.



Experienced with electro-hydraulic and diesel/hydraulic pedestal and gantry cranes: National, Liebherr, Hagglund



Experienced with hydraulic RO/RO cargo systems: McGregor/Navire



Experienced with tanker cargo systems, both engine driven, and hydraulic deep well pumps: Caterpillar, Framo



Experienced with computerized Planned Maintenance Systems: ABS SafeNet, AMOS



Experienced in operating large chilled water HVAC systems, and large centralized refrigeration systems.



Experienced in preparing shipyard repair specifications and acting as superintendent for drillship drydockings.



Experienced in vessel automation and high voltage equipment operation (up to 10,000 volt)



As First Engineer aboard cruise vessel, responsible for day to day operation of entire engine room, consisting of 23 persons.



As Staff Chief Engineer aboard cruise vessel, second in charge of 48 man Engine Department, and responsible for maintenance of entire hotel operation.
