Primary Responsibility as Chief Engineer on both Conventional and Tractor (z-drive) Tugs, able to independently operate and maintain vessel propulsion equipment and machinery. Responsibilities included all aspects of operating, troubleshooting and repair of a wide range of shipboard equipment. Perform deck work such as splicing lines, mooring vessels, operating winches, perform preventive maintenance on deck such as chipping and painting and general preservation, also maintained vessel Fire Fighting and Damage Control Equipment.

Managed company Supply inventory, responsible for maintaining the company’s Inventory Management System, producing reports as required by the Materials administrator. Responsibilities included researching and contacting various vendors to order supply and repair parts and maintain adequate inventory for various equipment such as high lifts, reefers, chassis, and tug boats etc. Also to inspect and repair tools and various types of equipment, such as electric drill motors, and pneumatic impact tools.

Skils
• Have proficient knowledge of Marine Diesel engines and Propulsion equipment, and other machinery. Maintain and troubleshoot systems accurately and repair breakdowns quickly to maintain operating efficiency to improve safety and boost machine productivity. Able to troubleshoot and repair marine hydraulic, electric, and mechanical equipment such as air compressors and associated shipboard service air systems, hydraulic steering systems, tow winch systems, sanitary systems, and various types of pumps and valves, and habitability equipment such as air conditioning, refrigeration, and galley equipment. Ability to perform arc and gas welding/cutting.
• Proven abilities of technical skills include: Able to read, interpret, and understand manufacturers' equipment manuals, drawings, and blueprints.
• Proficiently perform general seaman duties both on deck and in engine room.
• Administrative skills include: The ability to proficiently operate office equipment such as personal computers, fax and copy machines and also use spreadsheets and various types of software.
