Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities
To carry out routine inspection (in process and final) of deck machinery, engine components, lifting units, steel fabrication, piping, and structures.
To ensure complete traceability of all incoming steel together with regular material identification.
Review all relevant test certificates for incoming steel.
Ensure identification and traceability of all finished goods in the yard.
Carry out regular welding audits, procedure qualifications, and welder’s performance qualification.
Liaise with Class societies and customers
Liaise with NDT labs for periodic NDT requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Upon receiving various kinds of job from Afloat Section,
To identify scope of work from Owners specifications, work lists and on board inspections and instructions.
And entering those jobs by process of Mechanical Workshop Reception.
Passing the same to the said Contractors and Yard as per (Mech. Afloat Section) schedule, and describing them detail and nature of job to be carried out.
And in the same way preparing status of jobs in Workshop with remarks to Report daily work progress and the discovery of non-conformance to Section Head/ Service Head/ Senior Work Preparator.
Preparing and placing orders for materials and services.
Work responsibility includes arranging and preparing “Machining Request” for Machining jobs and “Interservice Auxiliary Request” for Blasting and Painting Service, Welding Service, Non Destructive Testing Service, Plating Service, Piping Service, and Instrumentation Service, Electro Brush plating as per Repair and requirement. And for replacement of new items, Placing request to Ware House (M-71), Procurement Requisition for purchasing from outside.
And keeping record of Material List whether supplied by Owner or Yard.
After Completion and approval of job from Owner Authorities, securing and sending back on board.
Preparation of Work Description and passing the copy with all necessary attachment to Senior Work Preparator (Onboard).
And finally, same photocopy forwarding to Quality Control Dept.
