Objective
To obtain employment within the maritime industry and gain the experience necessary to secure a safe and productive sea going career.
Experience
I have been employed within the power sports business for the last twelve years. I am familiar with the repair and diagnosis of ignition, charging, and mechanical systems of high performance engines. I also have experience with larger engines and related systems such as farm equipment and back-hoe operations. I have machine shop knowledge also. Growing up in and around the machine tool trade has familiarized me with many machine operations and mechanical devices. As a boy and young adult I was on and around the water ways of Southern New Jersey, including the Atlantic Ocean and several inlets along the coast. Boating safety was taught to me through my early life and I passed the USCG boater safety course as a young man.
I have also worked in a production woodshop for six years where I read blueprints and performed layout duties for the production crew. I served as a supervisor during four of those years and gained the experience needed to lead workers and obtain goals as a crew. I have been self employed for the last three years working as a power sports technician. I manage the business myself and handle all aspects of the operation. I have computer skills and use them daily to invoice jobs and order parts and supplies. These experiences have taught me the importance of organization, discipline, and responsibility. I have always kept a very good rapport with my employers and my clients. I am easy to get along with, I perform duties accurately, safely, and without delay.
