Objective
I would like to obtain a position as a third mate or able bodied seaman aboard an offshore vessel. I am flexible to any schedule and location.
Experience
I have sailed on a containership through Sealift Inc in the East China Sea during the winter of 2008. I have also shipped on a composite tug and barge unit with K-Sea in the Gulf of Mexico during the summer of 2008. I have just graduated at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy and have all my valid credentials to be onboard an unlimited tonnage vessel. I have also obtained my Mate of Towing Endorsement. At the Academy I had also completed a total of six months training aboard the school's training vessel. All previous shipping experience was done as a Cadet.
Education
I have just recently graduated the Massachusetts Maritime Academy. At the Academy I have obtained a variety of hands on training that qualify me to work onboard a sea-going vessel. I had graduated with over 170 college credits, with a B.S. in Marine Transportation and a minor in International Maritime Business. I have also graduated with a 3.0 cumulative grade point average. I was the captain of the rugby club team for two years. I was the senior cadet safety officer which made me responsible for all the fire fighting gear and equipment aboard the training ship. I am looking forward to begin reflecting my knowledge from the Academy into the industry.
Certification
I have all of my Merchant Marine Credentials which include my Unlimited Tonnage Third Mate License, Able Bodied Seaman certificate, Tankerman-assistant certificate, and I also have my Mate of Towing Endorsement through the Academy and outside experience. I also have my F.C.C. Radio Operator's License and my C.P.R. and First Aid Training.
Skils
I have spent a total of 8 months aboard unlimited tonnage vessels and two weeks aboard a towing vessel. At the Academy I had aquired hands-on training in shiphandling on an 85 foot vessel. I have also completed my bridge resource management training through the training ship and the ship simulator.
