• Assist ship captain in navigation and operations in N.Y. City near-coastal waters

• Manage the arrival and departure of up to 1,200 passengers and vendors

• Participate in Coast Guard inspections, including safety drills and security checks



Summer Sea Term III

SUNY Maritime Empire State VI Summer 2011

• Stood watch as cadet in charge, responsible to entire bridge crew

• Completed Summer Sea Term with the highest marks



Marine Maintenance Technician

• Performed routine maintenance on all types of vessels

• Analyzed, serviced and repaired Suzuki Outboards



Summer Sea Term II May 2010—June 2010

SUNY Maritime Empire State VI

• Traveled aboard 565 foot training ship with 600 fellow Cadets and Crew; ports included Malaga, Spain, Andros and Piraeus, Greece, and Dublin, Ireland

• Stood watch as cadet second in command, using oceans and celestial navigations

• Completed Summer Sea Term in the top 10%



Shipping Supervisor Summer 2007- 2009

Brown’s Point Marine Service, Laurence Harbor, NJ

• Supervised shipments of marine parts and packages worldwide

• Performed both online and telephone customer service

• Managed inventory of nearly $2 million in marine parts and supplies



Summer Sea Term I May 2009—July 2009

SUNY Maritime Empire State VI

• Training ship to ports of San Miguel, Azores, Gibraltar, Reykjavik, Iceland, and Belfast, Ireland

• Stood watch onboard, assisted in ocean navigation, and commanded vessel as assistant quartermaster

• Completed all classes onboard with the highest marks



Cadet Observer, The Hayward Winter 2008

Army Corps of Engineers, Jersey City, NJ

• Stood watch with the Master and assisted in near-costal navigation

• Operated the vessel as quartermaster, and handled ship through New York Harbor

• Collected marine salvage in New York Harbor and assisted as deck hand
