US Army Corps of Engineers Portland, OR - Dredge Assistance/Cadet Internship



Assisted in dredging operations on the West Coast. Operated dredging consol for dredging operations. Stand watch with bridge team. Navigated vessel over dredging project site. Assisted on conducting survey for operating and keeping records on dredging program. Navigated vessel in and out of channels to dump site. Prepare voyage plans for transit. Maintained communication with vessel in the area and VTS. Stood engine watch with engineer team. Assisted on fuel and lubricants for vessel operations. Maintained and repaired launch and rescue boat. Responsible for maintaining security watch while vessel is docked. Assisted on vessel emergency drills plans. Assist on vessel docking and departure operations.



5/02/05 – 5/28/05 Sause Brothers Portland, OR - Wiper/ Cadet Internship



Assisted as deck hand during transit of two barges from Portland to Hawaii. Assisted on make and break of tow. Stood bridge watch with bridge team. Maintained communications with vessel on the area during transit. Preformed vessel maintenance and equipment checks for towing operations. Facilitated vessel emergency drill plans.
