Deck Officer aboard a small to medium size vessel, preferably with voyages less than 60 days


Experience


Deck Cadet aboard the M/V Maersk Missouri, M/V Industrial Challenger, M/V Cape Decision, SS Great Land, M/V Green Ridge, and M/V Resolute. My responsibilities aboard were general vessel maintanence, safe navigation and watchstanding, cargo operations, medical officer, and assisting ship's business and navigational planning.

My internship was at the Little Rock Port Authority which consisted of being a deckhand on a fleet towboat and cargo operations on the dock.

I am currently employed by Kirby Inland Marine as a steersman trainee. This consisists of deckhand phase, then in three months, a pilotage phase, then a pilot in about nine months.


Education


Bachelor of Science in Logistics from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy


Certification


3rd Mate Unlimited Tonnage, Any Ocean. Unlimited Radar Observer. STCW 95. Dangerous Liquids Endorcement/Tankerman Assist. New York State EMT-Basic. National Registry EMT-Basic. Anti-Terrorism Level 1.


Skils


I am an experienced small boat and sailing vessel handler. I captained a Farr 40 sailboat for a racing season, and have my U.S. Sailing Basic Keelboat Certification.


 


I am also an avid outdoors and adventure person.
