Take and record all fuel,lube and diesel oil soundings and report to chief engineer.
Responsible for routine maintenance of the machinery and equipment.
Responsible for maintaining and ordering proper amounts of spares for diesel generator and oil purifiers.
Responsible for operating and monitoring all machinery and engineering equipment. This includes generators,
steering equipment, service pumps, compressors, ventilation systems, alarms, air conditioning and refrigeration

Ensure that all bilges, rudder compartment, and void spaces are kept as clean and dry as possible.
Stands engine-room watch during specified periods, observing load on engines and generators are within
acceptable limits, and oil and grease cups are kept full.

I worked on container carrier and dry bulk carrier ships as fourth engineer for 18 months and on general cargo carrier as third engineer for 6 months.
