Third Assistant Engineer

Objective


I would like to obtain a position within an organization where my engineering and leadership skills can be utilized. As well as continue to further my education and hone my engineering skills.


Experience


Most recently I was involved in A 60 day internship aboard the West Sirius. This was a Dynamically positioned mobile offshore drilling unit, stationed in the gulf of Mexico. This internship took place from June of 2009 to August of 2009. My duties aboard the West Sirius included routine plant inspections, hourly engine services of the CAT 3616 5000 hp diesel generators. I completed detex rounds of the plant and axillary equipment. I aided in the design and implication of new systems, as well as the repair of existing systems. I ran the oily water separator, and made entries in the oil record book. During this internship I compiled an extensive report of all the rig's systems and work procedures, thus allowing me to reinforce my hands on experiences with researched techniques and protocols.



From august of 2006 till the present I have worked aboard two charter fishing vessels. The first was the Black Rose home port Plymouth Ma, the second was the White Cap, home port Sicuate Ma. On both of these vessels I acted as first mate. My duties entailed briefing the passengers on safety protocol. Managing on deck operations during the voyage, and Maintenance of the engines and axillary systems. As well as navigation and docking procedures.



From march 2008 till the present I work for Anchor Diving services. a commercial diving company located in Buzzards Bay Ma. My duties included piloting the dive vessel and assisting in the repair and maintenance of the engines and on deck machinery. As well as managing the air supply and heating units for the divers in the water.



From march of 2006 to march of 2007 I Owned an operated a high end yatch detailing business. I was responsible for establishing the clients and ensuring there needs were met.I ran day to day operations and Hired employees on an as needed basis, as well as managed the finances and payroll.

I am proficient with Microsoft Office programs as well as CAD software. I am familiar with the operation of machining equipment including lathes and milling machines. I am experienced and familiar with metal fabrication, including arch welding and torch welding.


 


I am a very personable and energetic individual who strives to achieve on a personal as well as professional level. I communicate well with others and have no problem following orders or taking the lead. I believe I would make a valuable addition to any organization who prides themselves on quality of work and attention to detail.
