Supervised all operations at each port including:

- Hiring and overseeing up to 125 I.L.A. labor

- Coordinating all ship loading/unloading

Administered safety programs

- Initiated safety rewards program at the port

- Conducted accident/incident reporting and all safety meetings

Managed all cargo inventory:

- 210 square feet of interior warehousing, including: cocoa beans, sugar, wood-pulp, steel, project cargo, PL480, lumber, etc.

- 30 acres of outside storage, including silicon; steel; containers; project cargo, such as wind mills, locomotives, power plant components, etc.

- Proficient with cargo management computer applications

Maintained communication with cargo customers, shipping agents, ship owners and surveyors

Handled client relations and provided marketing recommendations

Improved Port of Albany output, efficiency & cargo integrity.

Increased wood pulp discharge rate from 300 to 500 metric tons per hour.

Increased sugar discharge production from 65 to 110 metric tons per hour.

Chosen as General Electric’s lower Northeast distribution center for windmill blades

Developed new warehouse layout for coca beans. Plan recommended to Hershey Foods headquarters by QA Department to be coca bean protocol for all ports to ensure improve cleanliness.

Worked with United States Coast Guard setting up Waterfront Facility and Homeland Security plans for the Port of Albany.
