ConocoPhillips - Term Chartering Manager June, 2005 - Present

Recruited by Commercial Marine Manager to assist corporation in adapting to global growth strategies and process development with a focus on developing cost effective solutions for enhancing competitiveness, while enhancing the HSEQ process.

2008 Value Capture: $49 MM in value for organization on “call for sale” alternative Aframax tanker sector contract with one ship-owner.

Global Contracting: 2007 contractual value capture: International: $ 13.1250 MM USD; U.S.: $45.1180 MM USD; 42 contracts completed/closed; developed and implemented new clauses – risk management, HSE, right to audit, performance, EEO, routing at sea, etc…for fit for purpose contracts; developed U.S. term contract templates - three.

Active member of Terminal standards team for continuous improvement items.

Sarbanes-Oxley: Directed process development and RACI for global term chartering for both U.S. and International tonnage procurement to ensure compliance with SOX requirements; successfully passed 2007 corporate audit of Term Chartering with zero deficiencies.

S & P (Sales & Acquisitions): Lead contracting participant for owned U.S. and International fleet divestitures and charter back contracts.

Chemical chartering: Directed discussions with JV partner regarding chemical shipments for potential change management.

Risk Mitigation: Developed benchmarking metrics to ensure risk mitigation for owned/contracted tonnage.

HSSE – Risk Management: developed commercial marine concepts relative to pro-actively managing risk on voyages, at terminals, passing ship scenarios, 3P managed vessels.

Process Development: Established global brokerage assessment process for results oriented decisions.

Transformational Change: Established critical partnerships for logistics service providers in consolidation initiative.

Contract Initiatives: Developed U.S. and international contract templates for global use consistent with corporate business directives.

Relationship Building: Provided enhanced relationship (external & internal) development for critical corporate successes.

HSSE – Risk Mitigation: Established Operational Performance Reviews for best practice sharing and risk mitigation.

Internal Benchmarking: Established internal transfer price mechanism for owned/controlled tonnage.

Shell Chemical LP – Marine Logistics Manager, Americas November, 1999 – June, 2005

Supply Chain Operations & Contracting: Directed contracting and operational strategies for Americas supply chain region.

Corporate Mergers and Acquisitions: Spearheaded marine due diligence for acquisition of Yabucoa refinery in 2001.

Corporate Compliance: Directed Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) program and Global SAP procedures for Marine Logistics.

Global Claims and Demurrage: Created and implemented Global Demurrage and Claims Process – “best in class”.

HSSE and Risk Management: Primary participant in risk management analyses in Americas and directed embedding of Behavioral Based Safety program for cultural cognizance in Americas to drive best practices and continuous improvement.

Established Operational Performance Reviews for 3P controlled equipment to drive change and improve efficiency and safety.

Directed Shell Chemical contracting with estimated aggregate savings of $68 MM over three years.

HSSE and Risk Management: Implemented a fit for purpose marine incident learning and sharing process, including use of the marine forum as a communication tool; implemented and enforced Hazard Effects Matrix Process and qualitative and quantitative risk process.

Triton Leasing: President of Triton Leasing, a Shell company, that owned and operated butadiene barges.

Awards: Awarded 9 Shell Service Recognition Awards (SRA) during tenure.



Ocean Shipholdings, Inc. – Vice President Fleet Operations May, 1985 – November, 1999

Operational Leadership: Directed global operations, maintenance & repair, contract management and personnel matters.

Crew Endurance Management: Initiated crew endurance management system with alternative watch-keeping, recognized in the industry.

Security & Risk: Developed risk management & shipboard security programs; trained with U.S. Naval Security Teams.

Quality Assurance: Instrumental in achieving ISO-ISM quality system certification and implementation.

Polar Operations: Directed Arctic and Antarctic ice program operations for 15 years.

Vetting and Audit Assurance: directed and handled approximately 200 vetting and port state inspections, no detentions and no failures.

HSSE – BBS: Developed safety culture – training, communications, formal process and audits. During fifteen year tenure as Vice President

Fleet Operations no cargo incidents/spills in excess of 1,600 voyages/20 million (U.S.) bbls. transported, no product contaminations, zero

environmental issues; program emphasized reputation, environmental integrity, personnel and assets; all passages conducted with regard to

hazards effects matrix process development.

Severe Environment Operations: Developed and directed severe and hostile environment operational processes.

Optimization and Utilization: Directed fleet and new working practice implementation for 99.4% optimization.

Cost Management: Directed increased ROACE and cost discipline in operational management.

Incident Response: Designated primary responder for global incidents and implemented global program.

Security Clearance: Top secret clearance for 15 years as Facility Security Officer (FSO) for organization.



Gulf Oil Corporation – U.S. & International Fleet Director June, 1978 – May, 1985

Operations Management: Directed U.S. and international fleet operational activities globally – tankers and heavy lift.

Regulatory Management: Spearheaded regulatory and corporate compliance analyses for compliance.

Incident Response: Primary marine incident command team leader in 1979 “Betelgeuse” cleanup activities in Bantry Bay.

Sailing Experience: U.S., British, Spanish, Italian, Indian and Taiwanese crews; chemical carriers to VLCC. Unlimited

tonnage license; chemical tankers, oil tankers and ore carriers.
