• Day to day shore based technical management for the Borgsten Dolphin, including technical support, project writing & management for ongoing upgrade projects for the rig including power generation, cranes HVAC etc & dry-dock specification & budget control etc, in coordination with client & DNV class society.



March 2006 to March 2008

Chief Engineer Dolphin Drilling



• Onboard technical management for the Borgsten Dolphin a semi-submersible Aker H3 Drilling rig operating in the North Sea UKCS. Direct supervisor of all mechanical, electrical, operation & maintenance in accordance with class & planned maintenance procedures. Structural maintenance and inspection in accordance with classification & company procedures etc.



June 2005 – March 2006

First Engineer Ocean Oil Construction / Cotemar SA de CV



• Shift supervisor on MV Iolair, a DP 2 semi-submersible vessel operating in the Gulf of Mexico as support and construction vessel for “Pemex". Supervisor of all engineering & electrical operation planned maintenance & repair of rigs equipment, power generation, thrusters, cranes & hotel services etc.

Second Engineer Dolphin Drilling



• Engineering shift supervisor onboard Belford Dolphin, a DP3 deep water drill ship. Control room operation of all auxiliaries Kongsberg Integrated control systems & the coordination and carrying out planned maintenance & repair of Main & auxiliary equipment. Comprising of 40Mw diesel electric power plant, thrusters and associated auxiliaries.



September 2002

Chief Engineer Project management Verolme shipyard



• Short-term contract as part of Project management team to oversee final stages of major $multi-million refurbishment of Jack up rig “Labrador” for Global Santa Fe. Including refit of drill floor equipment, draw works, rotary table, top drive & acceptance testing for client

• Belford Dolphin, Supervisor of service engineers for major engine overhauls in accordance with manufacturers specifications etc.

• Assistance with routine maintenance of vessel auxiliaries, compressors & HVAC etc.



November 1998 – January 2002

Chief Engineer Northern Marine Management



• Chief Engineer onboard MV Aberdeen, a DP-1 Shuttle Tanker. Day to day management of Aberdeen’s engineering department in coordination with company management and classification society. Broad based experience with the operation and maintenance vessels Alstom Integrated Control and DP Systems. Dry-dock project preparation and management experience including extensive engine / tail shaft repair and re-alignment. Tunnel thruster overhaul etc in conjunction with class society.



July 1998 – November 1998

Chief Engineer Northern Marine Management



• Chief Engineer MV Aquitaine ex Prins Filip, a passenger Ro-Ro. Vessel. Recommissioning of the vessel after 18 month lay up, to include modifications to latest Solas requirements, re-commissioning of all main and auxiliary machinery and systems, Main propulsion engines, power generation, thrusters etc and re-establishing vessel in class, safety management system, planned maintenance system and passenger safety certification prior to entering service with P&O Stena.



1988 – June 1998

First Engineer Chevron Transport Corporation



• Joined Chevron as third engineer in 1988 rising to First engineer in January 1994. Varied seagoing and dry-dock experience within the fleet of crude, product vessels. Extensive experience on Chevrons Lightering shuttle tanker vessels and their associated Framo hydraulic power packs & deep-well pumping systems and hydraulic thrusters. Directly involved at the implementation of ISM code, permit to work control and risk assessment systems onboard & direct control of planned maintenance & repair of all engine room & deck main & auxiliary equipment
