Position: Coast Guard Certified Tankerman.
Duties included monitoring the equipment for the transfer of hazardous petroleum and chemicals from facility to ships or barges for transport in accordance with OSHA, Safety Council and Coast Guard regulations. Open and close valves. Monitor mechanical pump engines for the discharge of products. Communicate pre-transfer conferences with facility. Perform shutdown exercises. Maintain and wear Chemical suits, SCBA and full-face respirator and proper PPE as required to eliminate exposure to harmful cargo or vapors. Completed necessary paperwork accurately and timely . Work closely with inspectors to gauge barges and shore tanks. Pull samples and perform line displacements.
