Duties:

-Planning and budgeting

-Plan and coordinate shipping and customer delivery activities (seaport and airfreight custom clearance)

-Directing company-employed over-the-road truck drivers and drawing on outside trucks, trailers, and transportation services as needed

-Airport assistance to incoming & outgoing clients

-Prepared purchase orders and ensured proper follow-up before delivery of materials.

-Liaised with suppliers and Transit firms to ensure prompt delivery of these goods at the warehouse.

-Developed and implemented a well-structured tracking system to facilitate tracking of materials and other supplies from both local and international suppliers.

-Ensured proper and timely dispatch of staff and equipment to all project sites.

-Inventory control on all project sites to avoid possible shortage during projects and ensure synchronization in all site reports from project coordinators before submission to hierarchy for subsequent action.

-Set up a filing system for the logistics service to ensure proper documentation of purchase orders, airway bills, dispatch bills and all other relevant service documents.

-Re-evaluation and classification of production personnel

-Analyse and implement organisation's security strategy.



Achievements

• Put in place a synchronised system of purchase orders in relation to all requests for effective control.

• Realised a 40% reduction in the company expenditure for lodging of staff and clients via negotiations for special accommodation rates with hotels and caterers.



• Instituted a centralised system of monitoring vehicles that greatly reduced and quality time lost, consumption of fuel and subsequently expenditure on the latter, and increased productivity for the fleet.
