30 Years experience as a Structural Engineer in the Naval Shipbuilding Industries which includes Submarines and Surface Ships. I have an extensive knowledge of various material specifications, analytical techniques, finite Element Analysis modeling and analysis programs from my experience working for Litton Industries Ingalls Shipbuilding, General Dynamics Electric Boat Division, Northrop Grumman Corporation Ship Systems, and Huntington Ingalls Industries Ingalls Shipbuilding Planning Yard. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

12/2011 to 03/2012, Structural Engineer 4, Huntington Ingalls Industries Planning Yard, Pascagoula MS, 228-935-1122:

Performing complex structural analyses on ship structure and foundations using Finite Element Analysis programs and hand calculations. Created numerous FEA models and analyses on CG47 Cruisers and LPD-17 Amphibious class ships. Tasks include Structural analysis of Aluminum and Steel ship structures using FEA DDAM (Dynamic) and Static analysis using FEMAP and NEiNASTRAN. Also performing fastener and welding calculations using extensive knowledge of material specifications. Responsible for interpreting and applying military design specifications, reviewing NAVSEA drawings, writing detailed analysis reports, providing technical guidance to designers, and mentoring/training to engineers. Currently hold a DOD Secret clearance.

12/2006 to 12/2011, Structural Engineer 4, Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding, Pascagoula MS, 703-280-2900:

Performing complex structural analyses on ship structure and foundations using Finite Element Analysis programs and hand calculations. Performed analyses on LHA, LHD, and DDG-1000 surface ship classes. Tasks include DDAM and Heat Transfer (thermal) analyses of Main gas Turbine and Reduction Gear foundations, Main Gas Turbine Exhaust Ducts, AC Plants, and numerous other foundations. Responsible for interpreting and applying military design specifications, reviewing drawings, writing detailed analysis reports, providing technical guidance to designers, and mentoring/training to engineers. Held a DOD Secret clearance.

12/1998 to 12/2006, Structural Engineering Supervisor, Litton Industries, Ingalls Shipbuilding Planning Yard, 228-935-1122:

Providing supervision, guidance, training to a team of engineers and designers. Supervised the Structural Analysis group of as many as 12 individuals. Provided detailed, one-on-one training to new personnel. Reviewed detailed reports, drawings, work instructions, and specifications. Provided status reports to management. Performed employee performance assessments and distributed raises. Worked with design and other departments on numerous ship alteration projects on CG-47 and DDG-963 class surface ships. Held a DOD secret clearance.

03/1991 to 12/1998, Structural Engineer 3&4 Litton Industries, Ingalls Shipbuilding Planning Yard, 228-935-1122:

Provided technical guidance and direction for numerous unique equipment and foundation problems. Performed structural analysis of shipboard structures subject to dynamic and static loading conditions using classical hand calculation techniques as well as FEA computer programs including MSC NASTRAN and PATRAN as well as NEiNASTRAN and FEMAP. Writing technical engineering documents such as Work Instructions, Ship alteration Records, Job Cost Forms, and Engineering Change Proposals. Technical review of numerous Ship Installation Drawings. Provide training to new engineers. Held a DOD Secret clearance.

05/1982 to 03/1991, General Dynamics Electric Boat, Groton CT Nuclear Structural Analysis Group, 860-433-3000:

Duties included performing complex structural analyses of numerous internal and external foundation structures on Las Angeles, Ohio, and Seawolf class Nuclear Submarines, using in-house FEA software and engineering hand calculations. Duties also included writing detailed analysis reports, analyzing unique ship installation problems, and working side by side with designers and project engineers. Worked with Manufacturing Engineering in designing test fixtures and writing installation procedures. Also worked with the Crane department, calibrating crane capacity charts, designing lifting and handling assemblies and inspecting cranes. Held a DOD and DOE Confidential clearance.
