September 2003 – September 2009 Chief Mate, First Mate and Third engineer at SEAFRANCE (Calais, FR), ferry shipping company operating in the Dover Strait. Worked on the M/V Seafrance Renoir and on the M/V Seafrance Nord Pas de Calais and participated in three dry dock refits as safety officer and chief officer (1 month in Newcastle UK in 2009).



October 2002 – July 2003 Cadet at Brittany Ferries (Roscoff, FR) French Ferry Shipping Company operating in the Manche Sea. I worked on the M/V Quiberon, M/V Duc de Normandie and M/V Normandie.


Education


2005 : 1 year Merchant Marine school course at the Ecole Nationale de la Marine Marchande (French Merchant Marine Academy) at Marseille (France), leading to the Master/Chief Engineer Unlimited Diploma (DESMM).



1999 to 2002 : 3 years Merchant Marine school course at the Ecole Nationale de la Marine Marchande at Le Havre (France), leading to the 1st Class Officer Degree (O1MM).



1987 to 1999 : Elementary, middle and high school completed at Lycée Moliere, a French school in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Obtained the French Baccalauréat in Science with a concentration in mathematics.


Certification


- Unlimited Merchant Marine Master certificate, issued under the provisions of the international convention on standards of training, certification and watchkeeping for seafarers 1978, amended in 1995 (STCW 95).



- Unlimited Merchant Marine Chief Mate certificate, issued under the provisions of the international convention on standards of training, certification and watchkeeping for seafarers 1978, amended in 1995 (STCW 95).



- Unlimited Merchant Marine Polyvalent officer (Officer in charge of a navigational watch and Officer in charge of an engineering watch), issued under the provisions of the international convention on standards of training, certification and watchkeeping for seafarers 1978, amended in 1995 (STCW 95).
