Job objective:



To complete cargo, ship and husbandry logistics projects in required timeframes and meet all performance policies



Responsibilities:



• Reporting to the West Area General Manager

• Maintain all shipping/logistics administration

• Ensure budgets on shipments are not over spent

• Plan for cargoes/ship arrival including offshore support vessel operation and securing a safe berthing space

• Coordinate and monitor movement of expected vessel liaising with the ship captain, owners and charterers or receivers.

• Manage the ship cargo and logistics operation whilst the vessel is in port for a smooth operation

• Handling all special [project] cargo vessel discharge, loading and logictics

• Establish all shipping documentation requirements and operating procedures for inbound/outbound cargo/ship and keeping abreast of changes in regulatory laws

• Establish strategic business development and interaction with the local community

• Coordinate with business development and marketing on quotations for new projects

• Review the project materials and equipment list to determine modes of logistics best suited for movement of materials to destination

• Manage delivery/shipping documentation and oversee the preparation of shipping instructions Clients

• Ensure cargo release documentation are properly done and cargo released based on company policies

• Overseeing shipment coordination with haulage vendors to ensure smooth and cost effective deliveries

• Drive invoicing plan and ensure cargo are shipped to Clients in accordance to contractual obligation

• Ensure good communication and relations with all internal/external parties

• Establish all project files are invoiced and closed out promptly

Responsibilities:



• Reporting to the Managing Director

• Ensure services delivered to clients according to contract

• Maintain all import/export logistics administration

• Maximize savings through duty minimization programs

• Ensure an efficient service is rendered to clients, ship owners and charterers or receivers

• Monitor and manage import/export consignments, especially on committed arrival or departure dates

• Source and manage haulage suppliers to provide reliable movement arrangements at lower costs

• Manage and liaise with clients on shipping documentations and cargo delivery lead time

• Manage and ensure that all documentation processes are handled efficiently in compliance with local and foreign regulatory requirements

Responsibilities:



• Closely monitoring movement of each ship in the schedule and advising Masters accordingly

• Keeping all concerned aware of vessels itinerary and updating port situation

• Communication with Charterers or Receivers as well as responding on behalf of Principals to Charterers complaints [after discussion with concerned Director when needed]

• Establish a safe berthing space and arrangements in place for her longsiding.

• Managing vessel in port cargo operation to ensure smooth execution

• Checking and approving the cargo documentation such as bills of lading and statement of fact etc when appropriate

• Ensure required vessel re-arrival documentation is done timely in line with regulatory laws

• Monitoring movement of containers from point of discharge, delivery and empty back till back loaded for maximum utilization.

• Maintain all vessel and container administration including striping on LCL/FCL containers

• Coordinate with marketing and releasing section for proper container or cargo release

• Ensure good relationship with jetty operators and all other agencies for smooth vessel and container tracking operation

Period: May 2000 – February 2004



Responsibilities:



• Reporting to the Africa Area Coordinator

• Planning ship sailing schedules for West Africa Ports

• Monitor vessel movement and advise Master accordingly on voyage details

• Checking cargo load out expectation for each West Africa port and advising stowage slots availability

• Monitoring performance and keeping all concerned aware of vessels updated schedule

• Preparing discharging and loading stowage plan for West Africa port – Lagos, Cotonue, Lome, Tema, Abidjan and additionally Luanda.

• Monitor vessel performance and advise improvement where needed

• Coordinate the marine operation program and commercial issues within West Africa.

• Overseeing the cargo documentation approval such as bills of lading and statements of facts etc when required

• Establishing that required vessel pre-arrival documentation is in place prior her arrival.

• Ensure HSE and risk management is attained at the required regulatory level

• Gather and inform all parties involved jetties day to day situation

Period: February 2000 – May 2000



Responsibilities:



• Report to the Operations Manager

• Handling documentation with customs and all other Agencies prior and post vessel call.

• Attending to jetty and other Authorities issues to ensure smooth cargo operation of the vessel when at berth

• Report daily jetty activities to the marine operations manager

• Supervising vessel cargo operation and ensure actions according to stowage

• Assisting in preparing vessel stowage

• Assisting in cargo equipment tracking and ensure equipment returned as at when due for maximum utilization

• Monitoring stripping of LCL, FCL container to ensure empty returned to required stacking point

• Attending port operational meetings and reporting back to the Marine Operation Manager

• Preparing cargo arrival advise and sent to receivers

• Attend to all other tasks as may be assigned

Period: June 1996 – February 2000



Responsibilities:



• Reporting to the Surveyor

• Taking record of quantity discharged of loaded

• Recording the quality or condition of the cargo as at time of operation
