CSAV Project 8000 Geoje, SHI, Korea (August 2010 – Present)



Senior Surveyor (Hull) and Engineer Supervisor CSAV-SSM team in the shipyards of SAMSUNG HEAVY INDUSTRIES in Geoje, Korea, involved in the construction of container vessels below mentioned (GL-Class).

All the steel blocks are inspected, accepted or rejected with comments, piping, tanks, prefabrication, it’s accessories and outfitting. In the same way with the assembly and erection joint in these blocks, integration of systems and participates in the relevant tests.

Responsible for inspecting the hull blocks outside the shipyards hired by SHI.

Others duties and capabilities are machinery tests, attending sea trials, checking elements of containers lashing bridge, tank tests and many other trials during the shipbuilding and sea trials.



CSAV Valparaiso, September 2009 - July 2010:



Naval Engineer member of the reviewing bureau for the general arrangements and technical specifications (blue prints) for a shipbuilding project in Korea. This involved seven 8,000 TEUS container ships ordered by the ship owners CSAV.



CSAV Valparaiso, up to September 2009:



Senior Bunker Coordinator for CSAV vessels in the geographical area of South America and Mexico. This position involves the purchases and coordination of the delivery of the bunker; solving problems as timeliness, quality of bunker and additional costs. Processing and certifying the bunker quality as also the corresponding credit lines linked to the invoice payment of the suppliers.



CSAV Headquarters, 1999 - 2008:



Many different duties and responsibilities in the area of human resources, technical services and engineering inside and abroad in Compañía Sudamericana de Vapores, depending directly from the Ship Management of CSAV Group.



DITEC S.A. Santiago de Chile, 1998 – 1999:



Sales and Technical Manager Engines Division for their engines VOLVO PENTA (Sweden) and generators WESTAC POWER PAC (England).



Chilean Navy Valparaiso, 1997:



Lieutenant Commander Chilean Navy (R).

Member of Division “Study & Design” of the Engineering Directorate of the Chilean Navy. Approval and Supervision new buildings, refit warship and repair navy auxiliary ships.



Asmar Shipbuilding and Docking 1987-1997:



ASMAR is a state company created in 1895 for construction and repair of ships, managed by the Chilean Navy, www,asmar.cl.

Asmar´s performances include Offshore Patrol Vessels OPV, General Service Crafts, Ocean Fishing Vessels, Troops Transport Ship among others:



Ironwood Shipyard Kuching Malaysia, 1994-1995:



Asmar in Ironwood Shipyard Kuching Sarawak East Malaysia.

Project Manager for the construction of an Oil Product Tanker of 4,500 DWT and an Oceangoing Tug for the same Malaysian owner.



1983-1987:



Degree in Naval Engineering (Naval Architect) Universidad Austral de Chile.



1978-1982:



Engineer Officers in the warship “CL LATORRE" (Light Battle Cruiser).
