• TRANSPORTATION OF CARGO AT SEA WHICH INCLUDES
I. Calculation to check stability of the ship at sea
II. Calculation to decide Bollard pull required to tow the loaded barge
III. Calculation to decide nos. of hard lashing required to stow the cargo firmly on the barge so that it won’t slide or tip while transportation
IV. Calculation to check whether the barge deck has sufficient strength to take the load
• COMPLETE DESIGN OF THE BARGES, TUGS, SMALL OIL TANKER WHICH INCLUDE
I. Preparation of the detailed general specifications for the vessels
II. Calculation of the section modulus and checking for bending & buckling of the ship.
III. Supervision of preparation of Layouts for General Arrangement, Bilge, ballast & Fire system, Drainage system as per class rules etc.
IV. Making Tonnage Calculation which includes calculation of Gross Tonnage of the
ship and getting it approved by administration of India.
V. Stability Calculation which includes checking stability of the ship at different loading conditions and getting it approved from the Administration of India.
VI. Preparation of Safety plans (Fire Fighting Appliances Plan, Life-saving Appliances Pan and Lights, Sounds & Shapes Signals Plan) for the Ships as per SOLAS, Merchant Shipping & FSS rules which include checking of fire pump capacity calculation, hydrant pressure calculation, jet throw calculation, calculation of quantity of fixed CO2 / foam system for machinery spaces and getting it approved from the Administration of India.
• CO-ORDINATING DESIGN PROJECTS: This includes meeting/communication
I. With the Surveyors of the Indian Administration/ Classification Society to
discuss the technical matters regarding safety plans, stability booklets, Tonnage
booklets,etc.
II. With various Clients regarding various ongoing projects
• VISITING BARGES/TUGS/SUPPLY VESSELS/OIL TANKERS: This includes visiting various types of ships for
I. Doing feasibility study in fixing the locations of the Life rafts, Lifeboats,
Davits for lifeboats,etc.
II. Surveying the Nos. & locations of the Safety items on board & to confirm whether they meet
SOLAS regulations.
III. Taking measurements for Tonnage Calculations
IV. Preparing various as fitted drawings.
