1995- MASTER - LAKE FREIGHTER CAPTAIN

2006 Employed by Inland Lakes Management, Alpena, MI

Dedicated Master with more than 10 years’ experience with this shipping company. Oversee all aspects of navigation and supervise Mates and Engineers. Excel in training others and achieving a safe operation. Provide 24/7 coverage on a 60 on/30 off schedule. Performance record with the company is excellent.



1985- RELIEF CAPTAIN, FIRST MATE, TUG BOAT CAPTAIN

1995 NATIONAL PARK SERVICE, Houghton, MI

Supervised a construction crew of 10 at Isle Royale National Park. Piloted 20,000 gallon petroleum tanker barge to deliver fuel and construction materials to the island.

Served as Member of Park Safety Committee.



1969- FIRST/SECOND/THIRD MATE, PILOT, WHEELSMAN

1985 Employed on Various Lake Freighters and Tankers

Began maritime career and continued to achieve advanced training and licensure with ultimate advancement to Master later in career. Learned the business from the ground up; fully knowledgeable of every position on board. Developed a solid foundation of skills which served as a foundation for career advancement.
