The company has two main businesses: shipping and offshore. The shipping business is involved in transportation of crude oil, petroleum products, gas and dry bulk commodities. The offshore business services to the oil companies in carrying out offshore exploration and production activities, through its wholly owned subsidiary Greatship (India) Limited. The shipping business has been awarded the ISO 9001: 2000 standard certification by DNV.
Roles and responsibilities :
? Current project is New Building of 57000 DWT Bulk Carrier at COSCO Shipyard- China.
? Previous Project was 75000 DWT Crude/Product Oil Tanker, the production of which is carried out in STX Shipyard- South Korea.
? Main responsibility being Hull and outfitting part inspection including Deck machinery part. Involves Shaft/ Rudder Alignment and other machinery part inspection.
? Other than that, carrying out inspection for Special Coating for Cargo Tanks and Ballast Tanks, Blasting/ Pre Blasting Inspection for Tanks and Blocks.
? Preparing the Daily, Weekly, Monthly Job schedule along with inspection report, progress report and reporting to Head office at Mumbai.
? As our 4 project going on same time, its very challenging to finish all site work and office work.
? Additionally, total site Management in the absence of Site/Project Manager.
? Involving Plan approval related work for our new Bulk Carrier project.
? Preparing Drawing approval comments of Hull/ Out fitting related drawings for our new building projects..

Bharati Shipyard Limited, a leading Indian private sector shipyard is engaged in design and construction of Sea-going, Coastal, Harbour, Inland crafts and vessels. The product range which initially was limited to simple inland cargo barges, deep-sea trawlers and dredgers has now been upgraded to building maneuverable and power-packed Ocean Going Tractor Tugs, Cargo Ships, Tankers and other support vessels required for the offshore industry.

NATURE OF WORK
? Associated with the fabrication, Assembly, Erection, fairing, welding and dry survey etc during the construction of Hull Structures of various large and small vessels.
? Involving the inspection of Shaft alignment, Rudder alignment and other machinery installation inspection.
? Verification of Hull structure with the drawings (Dimensional and Visual) both on skid and berth.
? Inspection of welding of hull structure for various defects by visual testing and Non at various points both on skid and berth
? Conducting various tests like Air Pressure Testing, Dye Penetrate Testing and Ultrasonic Testing after completion of welding with QC and classification societies.
? Making the modifications in drawings by using AUTO CAD
? Calculation of Steel weight for billing purpose
? Coordinating with Classification societies like BureauVeritas, Indian Register of shipping etc in scheduling inspections, tests and submission of reports to assure a quality product.
? Planning of work has to be completed within a given time and execute to get it ready on time.
? Alignment checking of machinery seating, Schottle well, Bow thruster tunnel etc.
? Making documentation showing progress in weekly basis and monthly.
? Total site Management in the absence of Project Manager.
