I am seeking for a trainee or an entry level job at an esteemed shipping organisation in Singapore. I am graduating in December 2009 from RMIT University in Melbourne with a Bachelor of Business and always had a fascination to start my career in the shipping industry.
An example of past work experience that has exposed me to the international shipping world was during my 12month internship at a shipping company Vroon B.V. in the Netherlands. During my time with them, I worked closely with the company’s Accounting and Finance team. This experience has given me the best chance to discover what the shipping industry has to offer and helped me grow as an aspiring individual, promoting my ability to quickly grasp new concepts and make necessary adjustments.
Furthermore, growing up in a family running a shipping business over three generations, I was constantly exposed to the world of shipping since the early age. I enjoyed going on a sailing trip with my father every summer, paying visits to cargo vessels and attending launching celebrations of newly built vessels in Japan and China. These experiences have greatly inspired me to proceed my career in the shipping industry. I am a highly motivated individual and I would like to demonstrate this to you with the opportunity of working at your esteemed organisation.
Tertiary study and work experience have both helped shape me into an individual curious to learn and improve, and I am certain that I will be able to continue this during the time of my involvement. I am ready to learn and work smart so that my involvement brings best value to your organisation. I intend to invest my lifetime to the shipping industry and will give my best to any opportunity it may arise. I would be delighted to hear if there is a position I would be suited and I am confident that discussing it in more detail will greatly benefit the both of us. I look forward to hear from you soon.
