RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS
•Maximize vessel revenue and volume on Transpacific Westbound, Indian Subcontinent and Oceania vessels
•Oversee Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Operations and Export Documentation on behalf of MacAndrews in the USA
•Direct responsibility for Vessel Budgets vs. Actual on the WB Transpacific, Oceania and Indian Subcontinent Trades
•Set up sales calls with specific targeted accounts to improve participation and revenue
•Interpret tariff, conference and regulatory issues for sales, customer service, documentation staff and customers in North and South America, Asia , Oceania, Middle East, Europe, India and Pakistan.
•Negotiate directly with corporate accounts handled by owners’ representatives.
•Statistical analysis of new trades to develop possible business plan.
•Execute and administer company’s pricing policy on a daily basis.
•Liaison between independent policing group and line in order to maintain tariff integrity.
•Statistical analysis of account volume and flow to provide direction to national and international sales personnel to determine best possible contract offer.
•Compile, analyze and distribute Journal of Commerce Port Import Export Reports on a monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc basis.
•Organize competitive profiles for outside sales team reference.
•Participate in internal quality control meetings for ISO 9000 certification.
•Represent carrier at Rate, Policy, Discussion Agreement and Principal level Conference and Discussion Agreement Meetings.
•Supervise conversion from Conference oriented carrier to independent carrier, participate in set up of Business Plan, file, administer and update contracts and tariffs as well as monitor activity of contracts in order to comply with FMC regulations.
•Complete conversion from paper tariff to Automated Tariff Filing Information (ATFI) compliant tariffs in May 1994.
•Coordinate transition from ATFI compliant tariff to Web based product to comply with Ocean Shipping Reform Act of 1998.
•Train various offices and departments in the use of electronic rate retrieval products.
•Visit various offices in North and South America, India, Dubai, Europe and Oceania to be familiarized with operations and staff.
