Seeking a position in management or engineering in any coastal or marine industry, preferably home based out of New England, but possibly open to opportunities elsewhere. Very interested in marine shipping, shipbuilding/repair, and offshore windmill construction and installation.

First hand knowledge of the New England and Florida coastal and offshore areas from a lifetime of being on the water. Proven leader with practical experience with an engineering degree and an MBA expected in May 2012.

07/2003 to Current General Dynamics Electric Boat Quonset Point, RI
Senior Engineer
? From 11/2006 to current, senior engineer in the Lifting and Handling Department at the Quonset Point, RI manufacturing facility. Management position as second in command of the department performing crane lifts in excess of 600 tons and hydraulic transporter moves in excess of 2,000 tons. Responsible for providing technical direction to riggers and crane operators, as well as filling in as an acting foreman and acting area superintendent. Responsible for safety, scheduling, and training. Direct involvement in investigation, assessment, and corrective actions resulting from crane accidents. Involved in nearly all of the various shipbuilding activities at the facility.
? From 04/2006 to 11/2006, Acting Area Superintendent for Ship’s Management of the Nuclear Attack Submarine USS Virginia. Responsible for providing deck plate technical support and ensuring work was safely completed on schedule and in accordance with procedures.
? From 10/2005 to 04/2006, engineer responsible for establishing day to day work objectives and procuring resources and materials to complete a Dry-Docking Readiness Mock-up, a full scale mock-up of the installation of a sophisticated external hull coating. Established the initial coating installation infrastructure of the newly constructed coating facility at Quonset Point.
? From 05/2004 to 06/2005, assigned to a team formed after the failure of a cellular cofferdam wall on the inside of a graving dock. Provided construction support as an engineer to assist the team, and represented Electric Boat on the team consisting of various outside vendors to rebuild the graving dock and extend the life of the facility by over 50 years.
? From 07/2003 to 05/2004 and 06/2005 to 10/2005, engineer in the Hydrostatics Group of the Naval Architecture Department. Performed hydrostatic, cathodic protection, and dry-docking calculations.
