Skils
I am currently living in Las Vegas, with the intention of moving to Fort Lauderdale mid August 2009. I am very interested in starting a new career which is non-automotive..
While at General Motors I did learn a great deal about contracts, construction terms and conditions, along with the construction of buildings, and the installation of assembly lines. As you will see in my resume, I was responsible for hiring and negotiating contracts with Construction Managers, Mechanical Contractors, Riggers and many other trade contractors to help our team build our plants, I also had to follow the engineering /design changes, be involved with the budget of the project, and followed the invoicing and payments made to our contractors and sub-contractors. The latest plants that I was responsible for were the following GM Plants, which included Shreveport LA, Lansing Delta Township, MI, Flint Engine, MI, and San Luis Potosi, Mexico Plant. Just prior to my retirement, I was assisting the Shanghai buyers with the construction of the new GM Asia Headquarters and the Expo 2010 GM Center. All while attempting to establish safety and construction terms and conditions with the Chinese.
I have been presented with two "Chairman Honor" awards, I was proud to receive both of these awards, but one in particular stood out more. It was for the re-construction of our Oklahoma City Plant, which was hit by an F4 Tornado back in May of 2003. Our teams was able to have the plant up and running by July 2003 - approximately 8 weeks to re-construction the damage that was caused. The damage was calculated to be $111 Million dollars.
I hope that I am a person which you think would be an asset to your company. If you are interested in me, please let me know . I would make every attempt to fly to Florida for an interview, or we could do a web-cam interview. Or, if you are not in a hurry to hire a buyer, I am leaving Vegas August 15th and plan to be in Fort Lauderdale by August 21st, we could set something up then. Please let me know, and I look forward in hearing from you.
Thank you for your time,
Laura Worline
