Seasonal Captain (under 100t) or Crew

Objective


Looking to work on a vessel as a captain if practical or as part of the crew from November-April, as I have a solid job May-October. I am willing to to relocate as needed and acquire any additional licenses that I don't have.

2006 - Present (May-October full time) Salem, MA

Position: Owner and Captain

• Responsible for the management and organization of office and on-board duties

• Supervision, scheduling, and training of eight employees

• Proficient in: marketing, public relations, sales, account management, advertising, promotions, operations, scheduling, hiring, and invoicing

• Primary Captain and Narrator of a 50-foot, 34-ton motor vessel

• Accountable for the general upkeep of company facilities, including vessel and office licensing, certification, and permits

• Conduct routine maintenance of diesel engines and vessel electrical equipment (12 & 120V)



2006 – November-April full-time Beverly, MA

Beverly Port Marina Inc.

Position: Yard Crew

• Organization of boat yard – over 300 boats need to be continuously relocated and stored

• Winterization, up-keep and maintenance of motor/sailboats ranging from 10-feet to over 50-feet

• Experience in: shrink-wrapping, mast stepping/unstepping, minor welding, float construction, minor gas and diesel engine maintenance

• Solid Experience with painting, varnishing, waxing, and fiber-glassing

• Qualified operator of 15-ton Marine Bull boat lifts, 35-ton travel lift, hydraulic trailers and compact fork lift

• Set-up and break-down of boat shows

• Some experience with boat sales



1999-2005 (May–October) Essex, MA

Essex River Cruises and Charters Inc.

Position: General Manager and Captain

• Responsible with conducting and executing private cruises and events as well as daily public cruises for over a hundred guests at a time

• Proficient in scheduling, ordering, prepping, cooking, bartending, serving and account billing

• High degree of collaboration with owner

• General up-keep of vessel, outboard motors, equipment and company facilities

• Two-and-a-half summers of experience as a Captain aboard a 40-foot pontoon boat
