A global freight carrier internationally recognized for its know-how and innovative ability in the movement of cargo, by air, by sea and over land. Approximately 1600 employees in 27 countries worldwide.



GLOBAL SUPPORT MANAGER – PROJECT LOGISTICS



Guided a global team of 20 project logistics specialists delivering tailored transport solutions for international industry leaders including Foster Wheeler, KBR and Bechtel. Oversaw decentralized logistics operations for countries with no project teams in place, to ensure synchronized global logistics support. Total ownership for tender and risk management initiatives and efforts. Collaborated with regional sales professionals to provide logistics expertise, further driving global sales initiatives. Created and administered all support services for the global projects initiative, including databases, technical tools, human resources, and subcontractors. Collected key performances indicators from across the enterprise, analyzing them and making numerous recommendations that improved productivity and profitability. Established the Projects Training Program for the professional development of logistics professionals.



KEY ACHIEVEMENTS



• Instituted the image of the project logistics department as a business-critical department, creating awareness where none had existed previously.

DIVISIONAL RISK MANAGER, AFRICA DIVISION



Oversaw all risk management and compliance initiatives for the seven companies in the Africa division. Conducted extensive, ongoing risk assessments to minimize risk exposure and loss. Authored risk, compliance, and audit plans for use across the companies, standardizing compliance processes. • Established the Division’s first formal risk awareness initiative, introducing enterprise risk management processes for standardized operations.

• Uncovered massive fraud in two business units, successfully mitigating losses and leading to complete restructuring of the units for vastly improved operational processes.



SLMR, Johannesburg, South Africa 2002 – 2004

A joint venture between SNC Lavalin (Canada’s largest engineering and construction group) and Murray & Roberts (Africa’s largest in the same field), focusing on the execution of three large expansion projects for BHP Billiton. More than 1200 employees, with project expenditures of approximately $450M.



LOGISTICS SUPERVISOR

(Contracted by Super Group to SLMR to oversee specific projects)



Recruited to reengineer the project logistics plans and budgets or the BHP Billiton Aluminum Expansion projects. Drafted logistics risk assessments and analyses for project-critical items to minimize or eliminate project losses. Continued to provide owners with logistics support on turnkey projects.

• Successfully managed and completed the Hillside Three project on time, within budget, and with no major claims submitted.
