To set the business strategy, achieve goals and manage the sales and marketing of an Engineering Organization catering to Marine, Oil or Power Industry.


Experience


Brief profile - Mechanical engineer with MBA. Has 4 years sailing experience,1 year in ship repairing & 7 years in Pucrhasing & Contracts.Currently working as Regional Sales Manager for an international marine equipment manufacturer. Responsible for Middle East, North Africa and Cyprus regions.



1. June 2003 till date–Regional Sales Manager,Alfa Laval M East



a. Manage and develop Parts & Service and Equipment Sales to Marine customers and Power Plants in the Middle East, North Africa, Cyprus and Pakistan.

b. Initiate and negotiate Parts and Service contracts with key customers. Liaise with legal department if and when needed.

c. Forecasting, setting strategy for achieving targets and Implementation of action plan.

d. Visit customers, make technical and sales presentations, introduce new products, concepts etc.

e. As Ship Relationship Manager, promote Alfa Laval products to Ship owners in the region who are building new ships in Japan, Korea, China etc. Provide Owner Support Packages.

f. Organize and participate in exhibitions in the region.



2.May 1996 to June 2003 - Vela International Marine Ltd., shipping subsidiary of Saudi Aramco.



a.Procurement of engine spares, heavy equipments, machineries etc. for the vessels through local and international manufacturers and suppliers.

b.Coordinating repair and maintenance jobs for various equipments onboard thru local and international work shops and repair yards in the region.

c.Developing new contracts for gases, chemicals, lube oils etc after going through bidding stages like tender preparation, bid evaluation, negotiation, recommendation and preparation of contracts in liaison with the legal department.

d.Verification of the capabilities of vendors & contractors, amendment of procedures in accordance with ISO standards. Periodical evaluation of vendors and contractors thru facility visits and performance review.



3. May 1995 to April 1996 – Worked as a Mechanical Engineer with AMASCO, a major ship repairing company in the region.



a.Responsible for repair of various machinery like Generator engines, purifiers, pumps,valves etc onboard vessels and in workshop.



4. May 1991 to Dec 1994 – Wallem Shipmanagement, Honk Kong



a.Sailed on tanker vessels as an engineer responsible for operation and maintenance of on board machinery. Serviced various machinery like purifiers, compressors, pumps etc.


Education


1. Master in Business Administration, from Dubai campus of New Hampshire University.



2. Bachelor of Technology (Mechanical Engineering), from Govt. Engineering College in Kerala, India.
