Vessel Operations

Eighteen years offshore experience as an ROV supervisor/pilot (Competencies to Superintendent Level) and a technician on cable lay vessels.Main discipline Electronics Technician. As a supervisor responsible for mobilisation and demobilisation of the ROV equipment, including calibrations and system checks prior to the start of projects. Responsible for ROV offshore operations and ensuring the job is carried out safely and expediently. Attending daily meetings to liaise with client and project engineers.

Oil and Gas jobs have included: PLEM, SPM and J-Tube and umbilical installation: Pipeline Laying and trenching operations: Rig inspection and pipeline survey: Dive and Drill support.

Cable jobs have included Cable Laying, Repair and burial, cable touchdown monitoring and PLIB work. I have experience of cable engine and LCE driving and EB carousel and SAS Tensioner operations.

Part of James Cameron DeepSea Challenger expedition to dive to bottom of Marianas Trench, filming subsea scenes for National Geographic / James Cameron documentaries (scenes maybe used for Avatar II). Launch and recovery team for DeepSea Challenger Manned Sub.

I have a good understanding of hydraulics due to my employment offshore.
