Roughneck

Objective

Work offshore as a Roughneck

Experience

Currently I am working on the Energy Enhancer, which is located offshore in Danish sector. My daily duties would include working around the deck, main deck and supply boats lifts, tools and equipment to be delivered to the rig floor. As of beginning of this year, I have always relieved roughnecks up on the floor, done the whole trip to cover ones holidays. I have gained some excellent knowledge whilst being here and now I feel very competent on the rig floor. I was also on board and a part of a team that drilled a new well, below are some key points that I learned from being involved in the task:

? Putting together stands and racking them up fingerboard

? Running drill pipe, collars, casing and BHA

? Using man riding equipment

? Using both slips, dog collars on regular basis

? Disconnecting and connecting elevators when instructed by driller

? Rig floor daily checks

? Rigging up wire line and coiled tubing equipment

? Operating Iron Roughneck

? Doing PM’s up on a derrick

? Doing mud weights and changing out screens when needed

? Maintaining equipment and the floor in clean, tidy manner
