Diesel mechanic technician with 33 years of experience. Fifteeng years of them in heavy diesel motors and eighting years in generator turbines power plants.
My studies as diesel mechanic were done in the Peruvian Navy School started on 1973 and graduated in 1975 as Diesel Mechanic Technician. In the submarine force as diesel mechanic specialist, I was responsable for the operation, corrective and predictive maitenance of two diesel engines, water pumps, cooling water system, lube oil pumps, cooling oil system, hydraulic pumps, hydraulic system, fuel oil pumps, fuel oil system. On 1985 I am back to the peruvian navy school getting the certificate as Diesel Mechanic Specialist after 6 moths of studies. With 16 years of services and with the position of shief mechanic I requested my voluntary retirement from the submarine force.
During my service into the navy I was being responsible for the operation, maintenance and developing tactical plans and objectives that ensure diesel machine availability, reliability and efficiency. Supervising the maintenance execution of all equipment efficiency making tests to identify and troubleshoot performance problems and predicts further overhaul requirements.
Preparing necessary revisions to ensure maximum safety of personnel and equipments and supervise 15 operators between electrician and mechanic in the most efficient manner and motivating to these individuals to attain the most from their operating skills.
My knowledge in the mechanical field were incresed when I started to work in generator turbines fields as operator control room and maintenance as well as commisioning and start-up of conbine cycle power plants.
ETEVENSA a power plant of 500 MW netouput, I worked there during 5 years as operator control room and maintenance; due to my work dedication I was sent to Orlando, Florida to follow the Westinghouse operation course.
I requested my voluntary retirement of ETEVENSA in order to start to work at Duke Engineering and Services Peru a branch of Duke Energy International from Charlotte, North Caroline USA. getting the position of O&M Manager after one and half year as operator control room and maintenance there, being responsible for the daily operation, preventive and predictive maintenance of two-75 MW ABB 11NM natural gas simple cycle generator turbine and auxilaries system of the Aguaytia Power Plant, Lima-Perú, providing a leadership and management for a permanent workforce of twelve operators, one O&M planner and logistic assistance.
Supervising the Hot Gas inspections, “B” Inspections and “C” Inspections (overhold) of the two ABB 11 NM natural gas generator combustion turbines and establishing an adequate inventory of mechanical, electronic and electrical supplies, materials and parts required for the maintenance of the power plant facilities.
After 5 years at Duke Engineering & Services and to my voluntary retirement I started to work in Power Industry consultants PIC the main office located in Georgia Texas with a branch in Sao Paulo, Brazil as commissioning and start-up mechanic of combine cycle power plant.
My knowledege, hard work and the responsability to assume and take decisions to repair, calibrate and alignment differents parts of the units and auxiliary equipments like diesel motors, pumps, air compressor, hydraulic system, air conditioning system, boilers and steam system, is supported from my military career and my experience in power plant facilities.
My experience is from the peruvan navy submarine force. I was there for 15 years as diesel mechanic and incharge of the system like hydraulic, air conditioning, general pumps, air compressor then I was request my voluntary retired and started to work in power generation facilities as commissioning and start up mechanic by contract with power industry consultants PIC main offices Atlanta, GA. Latin America area.
