I have a lot to offer your firm, including my 20 years of Military experience, schools and technical courses, with various types of boiler plant operation, inspection, repair, and management. I am currently a Texas State Technical College (TSTC) Environmental Health and Safety student.
Experience
2007 - 2008 Tres Palacios Shipyard, Palacios - EHS representative from Texas State Technical College for Tres Palacios Shipyard from April 2007 to July 2008. Performed monthly safety inspections, created reports and monthly training in English and Spanish for the shipyard employees.
2007 - 2007 Celanese Chemical-Plant Bay City, TX - Area 2 Utilities Plant Operator, assist in the tracing of lines for tag-outs, catching samples, filling out logs, housekeeping, checking equipment, making ditch, lakes and river flow line ups, starting and stopping equipment.
1993 - 1998 USS John F. Kennedy CV-67 and Naval Air Station RRDS - Acted as liaison between the Engineering Officer and the Philadelphia Shipyard Boiler Shop, Valve shop and the Pump Shop. Created and implemented an aggressive testing schedule to meet the demand for the overhauled of 400 steam valves and 63 pumps. Maintained QA records and produced reports for senior officers always on schedule or ahead of schedule. At NAS RRDS Coordinate and oversaw maintenance and repairs. Expedited communication between upper level management and general personnel. Identified problems, diagnosed cause and determined corrective actions.
1992 - 1993 USS Sierra AD-18 - Work Center Supervisor and Quality Control Inspector for All the Engineering Departments. Led Work Center to a highly successful decommissioning INSURV. Managed a staff of 15 Boiler Technicians in the daily operation and maintenance of two Main Boilers and all steam auxiliary equipment. Provide extensive career counseling services to all junior Boiler Technicians, preparing them for the decommissioning detailing conference.
1989 - 1992 Naval Reserve Center, P.R. - As the Training Officer developed and implemented from scratch a new and viable training program for 800 personnel. Maintained all training, AT and ADT records and produced reports for NRC Commanding Officer and REDCOMEIGHT Jacksonville. Directly responsible for NRC first successful Training inspection in seven years.
1987 - 1989 SIMA Charleston, SC - Quality Control Inspector Boiler Shop and R-2 Division. Supervised the first SIMA acid cleaning of a waste heat boiler aboard a Navy ship and the successful pouring of a VP-2 modification burner front, both SIMAS Charleston first. Planned and coordinated repair and maintenance work between all ships in the waterfront. Maintained all the QA packages and produced reports for the Division Officer and the QAO.
1982 - 1986 SIMA Norfolk, VA and USS Farragut DDG-37 - Assistant Supervisor and 3-M Coordinator. Maintained and updated all the weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annually and annually Planned Maintenance Boards for EBO2. Directed, installed, operated and maintained all auxiliary and main engineering equipment. Counseled subordinates in professional, educational and personal matters. Performed major and minor repairs on Marine Boilers, Condensers, and Heat Exchangers.
1978 - 1982 USS Pensacola LSD-38 and USS John F. Kennedy CV-67 - Maintained and operated all engine room equipment and auxiliaries. Conducted PMS on all equipment. Identified diagnosed causes and determined corrective actions on a daily basis for all the engineering spaces. Maintained and operated all boiler repair special tools
