Mr. Pollard has led, performed and/or reviewed over 50 Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOPs), process risk assessments, and process RAM analyses. Experience includes most refinery process units; Offshore operations; pipelines; highway, rail, and pipeline logistical systems; Non-nuclear power generation; risk assessments; nuclear power generation; and chemical manufacturing. Mr. Pollard has conducted hazard reviews and/or risk assessments and has operational experience in most commonly encountered industrial facilities: cogeneration, potable water treatment, industrial waste water treatment, foam rubber manufacturing, metal plating, specialty chemicals manufacturing, petrochemicals manufacturing, chemical warehousing, natural gas processing, LNG liquefaction, onshore and offshore hydrocarbon production, oil and gas production, refining, and industrial gas manufacturing. Mr. Pollard has also developed RAM models for production and processing facilities.
Mr. Pollard has assessed accidental release, air dispersion, and potential human exposure of toxic organic and inorganic chemicals, anhydrous acids, hydrocarbons, solvents and pesticides. He has also assessed the potential health effects of airborne carcinogens fractions (polyaromatic hydrocarbons) resulting from combustion of heavy petroleum and has prepared risk assessments for chlorine, ammonia, fluorine, hydrofluoric acid, oleum, sulfur dioxide, sulfur trioxide, hydrogen sulfide, and selected phosphates and perchlorates.
