Carry out maintenance/repair/overhaul/installation and commissioning of all MH hydraulic equipment. Liaise with customers, fault find mechanical/electrical problems and discuss/resolve equipment problems, provide comprehensive written reports for customers and employer.

MH equipment covered mostly drilling equipment, however we were involved in various other contracts for Sub-Sea handling equipment, Active Heave cranes and Turret Turning Systems on board Ships and Fpso’s (both in an onshore and offshore capacity) and in various shipyards worldwide.



March 2003 – October 2005

Maintenance/Repair Technician / Shop Assistant Cherubs Babyshop, Bridge Street, Banchory

Assist in the day to day running of my wife’s shop, assembling nursery equipment, prams, inspect/repair and maintain nursery goods and prams, inspect damaged goods for defects and assess the level of repair and affect repairs as necessary. Load/Unload vans with heavy/large boxes.

Actively perform general maintenance and repair activities (hands on) on all mechanical equipment, troubleshooting of equipment malfunctions in the offshore installation, in a safe and efficient manner, to maximize productivity throughout the effective use of all available resources. Closely work with other fellow workers from mine, and other departments to foster effective cross training. Assist the Offshore Sr. Maintenance Supervisor in planning and scheduling of works when required.

April 2007 – November 2007

Chief Rig Mechanic/Project Mechanical Leader, Neptune Marine Ltd. Singapore. (Drillship)

Currently working on a Drillship upgrade project in Sembawang shipyard to bring the ship to DP2 standard. Supervise sub-contractors who are carrying out tasks for Neptune Marine and carry out risk assessments for any hazardous tasks and heavy lifts. Attend construction planning meetings and carry out forward planning of tasks to be completed and assure DNV standards are achieved. Raise work orders for various tasks and equipment. Carry out quality control assessments on contractors completed tasks.



November 2007- April 2008

Chief Mechanic - Premium Drilling Co. Ltd PPL Shipyard Singapore. (Amphion Cyberbase Jack-Up)

Currently working in PPL shipyard in Singapore on a new build Jack-up as Chief Mechanic, supervising all the installation of all equipment and pre-commissioning checks. Supervise all commissioning of all equipment.



Duties with Premium included the list below:

• Involve in technical meetings with contractors.

• Monitoring of construction work by the sub-contractors

• Update project schedule to the Project Manager.

• Participate in daily and weekly construction progress meetings.

• Prepare and submit daily and weekly schedules.

• Project control and monitoring.

• Carry out pre-commissioning and commissioning checks.

April 2008 – May 2008

Chief Mechanic – OMS offshore agency Aberdeen. Indonesia Tender Barge for KCA Deutag.. (Tender barge)

Completed one trip through agency for KCA.

Actively perform general maintenance and repair activities (hands on) on all mechanical equipment, troubleshooting of equipment malfunctions in the offshore installation, in a safe and efficient manner, to maximize productivity throughout the effective use of all available resources. Closely work with other fellow workers from mine, and other departments to foster effective cross training. Assist the Offshore Sr. Maintenance Supervisor in planning and scheduling of works when required.



May 2008 – December 2008

Rig Auditor - Velosi Certification, Abu Dhabi, Singapore, Egypt, Sudan. (Jack-Ups, Land Rigs)

Carry out rig inspections, rig audits and condition surveys on all Mechanical/Hydraulic/Electrical equipment and determine the effectiveness of their PM system and report findings with recommendations of improvements to head office. Compile a list of critical improvements with different levels of criticality raised and advise corrective action.

Check PM status of all Offshore rigs and Land rigs, and advise if PM system is being followed.



Conduct a condition survey of all equipment and operating systems

installed, including drilling, mud, well control, power plant, electrical and safety.

During inspections of the primary equipment installed, corresponding reviews were carried out on all equipment maintenance records and certification to ensure that equipment was maintained as per

manufacturers’ recommendations and that it was fit for the purpose intended, the location and the present area of operation.

Where required equipment was internally examined and critical measurements were taken and compared to manufacturers’ tolerances and limits.

Equipment was surveyed using as a reference all relevant codes of practice, legislation and regulations currently employed in their region.



Condition surveys were carried out for clients planning to purchase rigs or to award drilling contracts to rigs and I was responsible for evaluating the complete rig equipment to be sure it was all fit for the purpose intended and report any defects with recommended remedial action to be taken.



January 2009 – February 2009

Rig Engineer/Maintenance Supervisor - OMS offshore agency Aberdeen. (Jack-Up)

Maersk/EDC Jack-Up Offshore Egypt.

Duties Included:

Collaborate with the management team for maintenance business matters. Plan schedule, assign, and evaluate the work of subordinates providing mentoring, development and training plans for the maintenance team.

Control maintenance schedules ensuring that maintenance is completed properly and that equipment is in correct working order. Provide leadership in preventive maintenance on all equipment.

Supervise and participate in rig maintenance and repair. Operate equipment as needed. Ensuring adequate supplies, materials and equipment are available to crew, ordering materials as needed.

Prepare and maintain records for rig maintenance system.



February 2009 – March 2009

Cheif Mechanic – OMS offshore agency Aberdeen. (Jack-Up)

Northern Offshore Greece.

Carry out Audits, Inspections, Condition Surveys, Thermographic Surveys for all types of vessels on all equipment types and operating systems, including drilling, mud well control, power plant, electrical and safety.

Depending on client requirements the inspections of the primary equipment installed, corresponding reviews were carried out on all equipment maintenance records and certification to ensure that equipment was maintained as per manufacturers’ recommendations and that it was fit for the purpose intended, the location and the present area of operation.

Where required equipment was internally examined and critical measurements were taken and compared to manufacturers’ tolerances and limits.

Equipment was surveyed using as a reference all relevant codes of practice, legislation and regulations currently employed in their region.



Carry out on-site testing and calibration of pressure gauges and pressure relief valves in accordance with international statutory codes such as API.



When not offshore, I work from the K2 office assisting with client enquiries, submitting tenders for various possible contracts and providing support to operations managers with any technical enquiries.

I am an analytical thinker who is comfortable working with both the necessary office computer software and also using the practical hands on tests required to determine accurate survey reports to be presented to clients. Having reached this level of competence I am now looking for opportunities which will allow me to build on the knowledge and experience gained during my recent work in survey and inspections.

I am a reliable/competent employee giving 100% commitment to my employers.



I have gained a total of over 30 years experience offshore with a very wide range of equipment.



I have worked on many different styles of drilling rigs through to large Norwegian platforms, Ships and FPSO’s. I have also gained vast experience overseas on a variety of drilling rigs (Semi’s and Jack-Up’s Land Rig’s, 6th Generation Semi’s), platforms, drill ships, FPSO’s, Diving Support Vessels, all in a large variety of countries like Brazil, Canada, Norway, Denmark, Holland, Baku, Bangladesh, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Sudan, Abu Dhabi & Egypt. Many of the countries visited a large number of times. These would have covered a range of tasks from simple inspections, full rig inspections, through to major overhauls and installations and commissioning, on and offshore, including new builds and upgrade projects.



Competent with Permit to Work systems, Tool Box Talks, Risk Assessments, JRA’s, and various CMMS.
