1.)Responsible for fitting & installation of machineries of new building 56m Royal Australian Navy Patrol Boats, such as: installation of generator engines, main engines, gear boxes, shafts & propellers, rudders, bow thrusters, roll fins, davits, pumps & motors.
2.)Reports directly to supervisor e.g. accomplishment of work, confirmation of work, materials needed for the installation.

FIELD ENGINEER III – Machinery Installation Engineer
1.)In-charge for installation and confirmation of machinery installation works such as: Shaft Center sighting, Shaft installation, Shaft alignment, propeller pressure fitting, Main Engine installation and alignment, main diesel generator installation and alignment, Engine room pumps, Air compressors, Fuel Oil & Lub. Oil Purifiers, Auxiliary Boiler.
2.) In-charge for testing & commissioning of ship’s engine room machineries.
Such as:
- Official Auxiliary Boiler automatic combustion control test (Class surveyor & O.R. presence ).
- Main diesel generator operation & protective system test ( Class Surveyor & O.R presence).
- Engine room bilge suction testing, main air compressor charging and performance testing, waste oil incinerator function testing( Class Surveyor & OR Presence ).
- Engine room pneumatic controllers (Nakakita) setting & testing, purifiers testing.
- Main Engine commissioning & testing during official sea trial.
3.)In-charge for confirmation of Engine room pipe installation, Fuel Oil & Lub. Oil tanks installation.
4.)In-charge of Machinery Installation & Commissioning works scheduling.
5.)In-charge of controlling contractor’s man-hour.
6.)In-charge for recording & documentation of installation & testing works official records of inspection.
