Objective


I have 8 years of comprehensive training in telecommunications and a successful technical career with the United States Marine Corps where I was promoted as the Radio Supervisor. I think this experience will make me an ideal candidate for this position.



I am fully trained to work on commercial and military systems. My overall experience makes me well equipped for troubleshooting, installing, and repairing many types of systems.

Advise Communications Officer regarding radio, wire and data communications including personnel requirements, equipment status, and use of systems. Estimate, plan and recommend use of communication assets. Maintain readiness by identifying training needs and correcting deficiencies. Supervise installation, maintenance and operation of all communication assets for exercises and deployments. Develop detailed plans for exercises and deployments. Assist units in establishment of communications during training and exercises.



Provide assistance to computer system end users including troubleshooting, updating new software and patching non-intranet systems. File appropriate paperwork through Information Assurance and ensure safety and physical security are in place. Perform detailed first level maintenance and service checks on radios, printers, audio and visual equipment and computer assets. Order necessary components for all networks assets and requisition frequency and satellite channels. Review and evaluate waivers for communication asset purchases and maintenance.


Education


Radio Chief – 06/2010, This course teaches supervision of the installation and operation of fixed and field radio stations, microwave stations, and visual signaling stations. The course develops the understanding of system integration for wired and wireless data communications systems sufficiently well to develop and execute communication plans in a highly mobile environment.



Systems Planning, Engineering, and Evaluation Device (SPEED), MTT Training Course, 40 hours – 05/2010, SPEED is a USMC GOTS software program for communications planning and analysis at MEF/MSC and below. SPEED provides a standard set of software components to perform RF link analysis and engineering. Software components provided are HF profiler, LOS radio coverage analysis,satellite planner, C2PC track interface, interference and de-confliction analysis, spectrum management, QoS, EPLRS Planner, radio guard chart, Comm-on-the-move (COTM) and T/E and force structure manager.


Certification


Certified Fiber Optic Technician CFOT, National Communications Training Centers, 70 hours of Fiber Optic cabling and 35 hours of Category 5e and 6 copper cabling and also certified to operate FLUKE Certification Tester, OLTS and Fusion splicer – 04/2007


Skils


Maintained logs of messages transmitted and received for activities such as flight testing and fire locations. Broadcasted weather reports and warnings.

Conducted periodic equipment inspections and routine tests in order to ensure that operations standards are met.

Turned controls or threw switches in order to activate power, adjust voice volume and modulation, and set transmitters on specified frequencies.

Operated sound-recording equipment in order to record signals and preserve broadcasts for purposes such as analysis by intelligence personnel.

Sent, received, and interpreted coded messages.

Repaired radio equipment as necessary, using electronic testing equipment, hand tools, and power tools.



Managed communications assets for numerous exercises. Served as liaison for the Marine Expeditionary Units communications platoon in order to take full benefit of needed training and exercise support.

Maintain a large network of NMCI (Navy Marine Corps Intranet) computers and printers.

Conduct regular inventories to account for all communications equipment.

Staffed and planned network requirements for exercise involving the entire 22D Marine Expeditionary Unit of 2,500+ personnel.

Serve as SharePoint Information Management Officer (IMO) and Radio Procurement Officer.
