Radio Operator

Objective


I am looking for a job as a Radio Operator. My prime motivation is to exercise my accumulative experience and abilities to the fullest extent. I have diversified experience having successfully held a position as a Radio Operator. I have been considered to be an effective communicator; capable of communicating with all levels of personnel and management. I am highly organized, trainable and adjust well to all types of environment and work well with other employees and in complete harmony and management.


Experience


Global Marine Drilling Company- (Oil/Gas insdustry)

Employed from 1998 to year 2000.

Responsibilities: Transmit and receive rig messages, a coordinator between the rig and ashore, Morning Duty - check all the Radio equipments if they function well ie the VHF (eg. working CH. 69 / 72 / 74 depending on the Rig; its emergency CH 16 / 70); Helico Radio Frq. eg. 123.45 its emergency Frq. 406; check the fax machine, the Rig #., emails. Contact any boat on standby duties for a radio check - say CH. 69. Before you receive a chopper you inform your St/by boats. Crew Change Day : Emails, fax and Helico Radio Frq. eg. 123.45 are checked; communicate to the pilot the wheather forecast details when he demands such as W D. eg. 235°, W Spd. eg. 3 - 4 knots, Visibility eg. 5 - 6 nm, Cloud base eg. 1120', Temp. eg. 18° C, Heading eg. 224°, Coord/Psn. eg. Lat. 006' 5 etc, etc.
