Shipping Coordination Center Pacific is a unit that is presently co-located with the Untied States Coast Guard Maritime Intelligence Fusion Center (MIFC) and directly supports the Joint Forces Maritime Component Commander (JFMCC) for NORTHCOM.

The primary mission is to provide JFMCC accurate real-time tactical maritime movement data for merchant shipping, specifically vessels of interest within the Pacific area of responsibility.

My main responsibilities as Assistant Navigator were to navigate ships in and out restricted ports, and in charge of the watch-to-watch navigation and the maintenance, correction, and preparation of nautical charts and navigation publications.

As Safety Officer I had to identify and anticipate safety and health concerns and hazards by surveying environmental, operational, and occupational conditions and render opinions on new procedures and recommend preventative programs.

Develop safety campaigns, safety systems, policies, and procedures, and train management and employees on rules and regulations

Conduct safety inspections and investigate violations to ensure safety procedures are being followed and counsel managers and employees accordingly



Safety Technician, Naval Air Technical Training Center Pensacola, FL 12/2000 to 12/2003



Completing safety and environmental inspections, identifying issues and developing corrective action plans to insure compliance with applicable safety, health and environmental regulations including OSHA, EPA, HAZMAT, DOD, and state and local regulations

Conducting safety training orientation sessions and teaching OSHA courses to ensure that (OSHA) policies and procedures are followed to both staff and students of 5000 personnel in all.
