Experience
1991 to present: President of Gas Plus Inc., North Kingstown, RI. A gasoline retail and convenience store. Family business started 1991 and created new concept in 2003 under the name of ENGINE FOODLANE. Responsibilities include sourcing of fuel suppliers and goods wholesalers, daily hands-on management of the employees and the location. The concept we created was recognized nationally through industry publications. CSP Independent cover page story June 2006 issue and CSP (Convenience Store Petroleum) October 2006 issue.
1989 to 1993: J & K General Trading Burmingham, MI. Executive Vice President and managing partner. My responsibilities were to source and supply offshore marine equipment to different oil companies in the UAE. Established contact in the USA of suppliers and brokered deals for the Supply of a 150 ton Western Gear Tensioner to NPCC, Derrick Lay Batge from Satmarindo in Indonesia to ADNOC, Halliburton Mud Pump system to NPCC among other equipment such as winches, pedestal cranes etc...
1986 to 1990: MBM (Mohammed Bin Massaoud & Massaoud John Brown)Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, Oil & Gas Division. Administration Manager in charge of coordination of bids and tenders put out by the national oil and gas companies such as ADNOC (Abu Dhabi National Oil Company), ADMA-OPCO, GASCO as well as other marine construction companies such as NPCC (National Petroleum Construction Company). With the high level of PR skill, I was able to secure the company tenders that were quite profitable, among which was the supply of turbines and contract for offshore supply with ADNOC. Relocated to the USA in 1990 following the invasion of Kuwait.
1984 to 1986 MISOC (Marine Installation Systems & Offshore Construction) Beirut, Lebanon. Managing owner, in charge of design and installation of beach pollution prevention systems and was the official representative of Wharton Williams of the UK for the Lebanese coast salvage and clean-up operation. Got awarded the contract for the study by the Lebanese Government Ministry of Transportation. Project was halted due to the Lebanese civil war and conflict.
1980 to 1983: Hampton International, Beirut, Lebanon. Marketing coordinator for the Middle East and Africa. My duties included the sourcing of markets for the sale of surplus consumer goods from international manufacturing companies, such as OKI of Japan, Sanyo, Gillette etc... Also duties included market studies and socio-economic reports. My sourcing of leads resulted in sales of different categories of products. The company closed due to the Lebanese civil war.
