EXPERIENCE:

MARATHON MARINE SERVICE CORP, INC., Rahway, NJ (08/86 to Present)

Participated in all aspects of founding and building this successful service business and machine shop that provides total marine diesel propulsion (oil tankers) and industrial engine (diesel generators) and component troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and upgrades.

Operations Manager / Project Manager

• Direct all day-to-day business activities including financials, sales, production, and administrative functions.

• Manage all phases of large-scale diesel and component repairs, overhauls, or reconditioning, to timely completion.

• Established a fully functional cylinder head and fuel injection repair facility; researched and purchased associated equipment and train staff on operational procedures.

• Meet with existing and potential clients to survey and evaluate projects, review allocated budgets, prepare and submit proposals, negotiate and finalize contracts, purchase necessary components, and manage crews for each assignment.

• Hire and assign work to crews (up to forty laborers); implement quality control measures.

• Build and maintain positive business relationships with clients to ensure repeat business.

• Completed projects in Canada, Chile, China, Mexico and St. Croix.

• RESULTS: Built this company from the ground up; established ongoing relationships with major clients.



STEAMCO CORP., Staten Island, NY (02/83 to 08/86)

Project Manager / Customer Engineer

• Met with senior management at major companies to introduce our company and marine engine repair services.

• Conducted extensive field service and troubleshooting on diesel and steam turbine engines.

• Hired staff and managed repair or overhaul projects from inception to timely completion; tested and ensured all systems were operational.

• Served as liaison between the client and our company to resolve any technical problems.



AMERICAN TRADING TRANSPORTATION COMPANY, New York, NY (08/76 to 02/83)

U.S. C. G. Licensed 1st Assistant Engineer (Unlimited Horsepower)

• Served aboard ship; oversaw and maintained ship propulsion systems.

• Supervised and assigned crews; troubleshot and repaired systems.

I have spent over 20 years reconditioning medium speed diesel engines and components, such as: cylinder heads, fuel injection pumps, fuel injectors, pistons and other assorted components. I have taught labor to do the same and I ran the business as well.
