Skils

My most recent achievement was a successful refit and reclassification of an 85m long North Sea pipe carrier to a DPII MSV. I located the vessel and submitted the idea to perspective owners. After the vessel was purchased, we began a 2 year long DPII installation and refit of it. Every system had to be rebuilt or constructed. Main engines were rebuilt; auxiliary systems were upgraded; generators and AC drives were added as well stern thrusters. Also included were the additions of a moon pool and an active 150 ton heave compensated crane. Upon completion of vessel, I carried out all DP proving trials; obtained Lloyd’s DPII classification for the vessel; and operated as ship’s master on her 1st project to oversee a successful operation for both owners and client.

I have worked as a project manager and master over the last 10 years converting offshore support vessels to DP II vessels. After the project construction phases were completed, I conducted the DP proving trials as master and obtained class for the vessels and then operated the vessels as master on the maiden contract to trouble shoot any construction issues if needed. Through these experiences, I have developed solid background dealing with regulatory issues and dealing with flag state and class societies as well as acquiring technical understanding in all construction and operational departments involved in vessel construction and vessel operations.

I do have over 25 years’ experience in the DP industry. Additionally, I have extensive deep sea tanker experience on multi product carriers and chemical tankers and have been master on many geotechnical drilling ships and have worked as mate on board such drilling units as the Zaparta Artic and Diamond M General. These opportunities have provided me with a strong understanding of all aspects of drilling, storage, and transfer operations in addition to the above.
