Duties and responsibilities include:Prepare schedules for shipyard repairs prior to USCG COI inspections of lift-boats. Plan for future repairs. Work with shipyards on scheduling repair work to meet deadlines. Average of 5 simultaneous vessel repairs per month between two shipyards. Hercules owns and operates 47 lift-boats that are cycled thru shipyard repairs, yearly topside, and five-year hull inspections. Implemented the use of Microsoft’s Project 2007 software to graphically plan and chart each vessel’s progress during the repair cycle. Corporate managers are now able to easily track the progress of each vessel in order to predict when they are able to book jobs for the boats. Revise vessel piping systems drawings to reflect changes using Auto-Cad.

Plan, direct, and coordinate heavy lifts in excess of 100 tons using multiple cranes and heavy lift rolling hydraulic trailers. Prepare bids for ABC class offshore deck barge repairs, rebuilding offshore oil & gas platforms, scrapping of decommissioned and storm damaged platforms, setup of barges for load-out of platform installations and removals, and miscellaneous Fabrication shop items. Confer with personnel, owners, subcontractors, A.B.S., D.N.V., USCG, and design professionals. Schedule the projects in logical steps, allocate labor and material required to meet deadlines and budgets. Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with owner requirements, A.B.S., D.N.V., USCG regulations. Design ship's systems, machinery placement and submit plans for approval to A.B.S., D.N.V., and USCG. Explain plans and contract terms to workers. Direct and supervise workers. Oversee the installation of all major equipment, machinery, and propulsion components. Prepare and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with clients. Obtain all necessary permits and licenses. Perform tests and inspections with A.B.S., USCG, DNV inspectors for all stages of construction, USCG C.O.I. permits (topside and bottom), ABS, DNV class certificates, stability inclining tests, welding procedures/tests. Drive boats during sea trials. Travel to client's vessels in various countries to perform, supervise warranty issues and repair items. Instrumental in the development of inspection procedures and report forms for shipyard certification to DNV ISO 9001:2000 approvals. (Island Boats Inc. is one of only a very few shipyards in the area to be DNV ISO 9001:2000 approved.) Customer entertainment.
