Objective
A brief statement of my overall responsibilities shall be coordinate activities of the project (Ship/Yacht Construction)– to achieve timely completion, in line with safety, commercial & quality aspects.
Experience
Present Experience (since Jun 2005):
Presently working as Project Engineer in a reputed yacht construction/ refurbishment company in Jebel Ali Free Zone, Dubai. A brief statement of overall responsibilities is to coordinate activities of the project – to achieve timely completion, in line with safety, commercial & quality aspects.
Responsible for:
a) Effective delegation & control of resources for optimum productivity.
b) Ensuring safety requirements are fulfilled.
c) Propose and implement continual improvement in quality, safety and productivity in consultation with Project Managers.
d) Liaison and coordination with regulatory bodies, clients, consultants, contractors and internally within the company, to satisfy their needs within commercial controls.
e) Assist Project Managers in ensuring project milestones and commercial controls are achieved, by effective planning including logistics and execution.
f) Demonstration of continual improvement in the project schedules, including though not limited to corrective and preventive measures.
g) Preparation and implementation of details work schedules, with manpower histograms to achieve commercial controls.
h) Stand in for Project Manager during his leave absence.
i) Conduct meetings with Owner/Owner’s rep and clarify matters/ any unclear items.
j) Conduct daily production meetings and instruct the production/ site supervisors for timely completion of the planned works.
k) Check and verify the progress of project as per the owner approved technical specification.
l) Verification and approval of design drawings.
m) Train the supervisors and team leaders for proper conduct of Safety Awareness and “Toolbox” Meetings.
Previous Experience (Jan 1990 to Dec 2004):
15 years working experience in Indian Navy as Electrical/ Electronic Supervisor with long hours of Sea Voyage, managing men and process in tough sea conditions. Experience includes four years as Electrical/Electronics Instructor in Indian Naval Communication Training Centre, (an ISO 9001 certified Training Centre), at Kochi.
Education
Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical/Electronics (Equivalent), Govt. of India vide Gazette of India dated 05 November 1983, Part II - Section 4 (page 531), Statutory Rules and Orders Issued by the Ministry of Defence.
Diploma in Electrical from Industrial Training Institute, Chalakudy, India (1987-1989)
Bachelor of Arts- Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi
Certification
Certificate course in Project Management Fundamentals.
Certificate course in Resolving Conflicts & Effective Business Communication.
Diploma in Security & Safety Management, Fire Fighting & First Aid National Institute of Security Management, Bangalore. India (Approved by Director General, Ministry of Defence, Govt. Of India)
Skils
Software Packages : MS Office, Words, Excel, Project and AutoCAD.

04 Dec 2001 (Navy Day) Commendation by The Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command, Indian Navy for utmost dedication and professional competence of a very high order.
Operation Vijay Medal. (Jun 1999) For active participation in Kargil Low Intensive War.
Admiral Ramnath Trophy Best All-rounder Award amongst the trainees of INS Valsura, Naval Electrical Training Establishment at Jamnagar, India for the academic year (1990-91).
